Always a wonderful time! The food was delicious and the service (Matt was our waiter) was warm, engaging and professional. An incredible experience. The restaurant, while always beautiful, was festively decorated for the holidays. So beautiful!

Thoughtful holiday decorations. The lamb chops and the pork chop, two of our favorites, were cooked to perfection - tender, juicy and delicious as usual. We always look forward to coming here and the new apple caramel puff tart is a welcome addition. Keep up the fantastic work. We already made our next reservation.

The Saddle River Inn is by far the best restaurant in Bergen county. My guests traveled all the way from Brooklyn, NY, and were absolutely in awe of the entire experience. The Christmas holiday decorations adding an extra layer of magic and charm to the already stunning ambiance. The food was perfection—every dish bursting with flavor and plated beautifully. The entire menu was a hit! Even my foodie guests, who are used to Brooklyn’s top dining spots, couldn’t stop raving about it. With the festive decor, cozy-yet-elegant vibe, and next-level cuisine, the Saddle River Inn made our holiday gathering truly unforgettable.

I wanted this review to be longer but was only allowed a certain amount of typing space so here is the short version: Our server: very nice, but his demeanor was much more casual and aloof than what we're used to here and actually made us feel kind of uncomfortable. The menu used to change seasonally (or at least twice a year) but not the case for well over a year now. They do offer specials but I'm referring to their "regular" menu. They offer bread baskets table side, but this time only had a scant 3 pieces of bread left in it, two kinds, when normally there are at least three kinds of abundant fresh choices. My entree: I ordered a 'special' - a pasta dish with a cream sauce and white truffles for $140, EXEPT FOR... no shaved truffles, just FINELY GRATED on top that were mixed in with breadcrumbs. Not acceptable but I didn't say anything this visit (tho i shd have). Apps were ok but nothing great. Oysters and an Asian bowl-tasty but had overcooked noodles. Dessert was a debacle - they said orange tiramisu but it was anything but. some orange instant pudding type substance, with ROCK HARD, STALE lady fingers mixed in, not even soaked in espresso as they should have been and served 'parfait style' in a wine glass (not impressive) and ZERO mascarpone cheese which is sup to be a MAIN ingredient in tiramisu. so they got this wrong in so many ways. so basically mac and cheese with breadcrumbs on top like I can make at home, and no dessert, plus my partners meal for over $450 (including tip). Very disappointing I never thought I'd see this here.

Mye husband has been coming here for over 40 years attending dinners with friends, family and corporate events. We have coming here as a couple for over 37 years every year and have enjoyed all of our dinners here thru the years. The food, the staff, and the coziness of the surroundings make it a wonderful experience.

Although reservations were a bit challenging to make, it was worth the wait. The staff were extremely friendly, accommodating, professional and knowledgeable. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. Kudos to a well-run establishment! The food went beyond expectations and Chef Jamie Knott is to be commended. My dietary challenges were addressed with no fuss. I ordered the the side artichokes as an appetizer; and as I am unable to have cheese, they were prepared with butter, lemon and lovely seasoning - very tasty. I had the halibut special which was cooked to perfection. I was asked the doneness preference which surprised me as even in the best seafood establishments this is never asked. I don't like overdone halibut, but slightly moist but firm. It was delightful and utterly delicious! Such flavor! My husband ordered the Spanish octopus appetizer which was so tender and so tasty. His entre consisted of the lamb chops which were cooked to a lovely tender pink and were delectable. We split the mini chocolate cakes which were yummy! Service was spot on - all you had to do was look up if you needed something, and our server was there. I can't say enough about how wonderful everyone was. All in all, a wonderful experience.
