Whether you are looking for a place to celebrate your birthday, to have an elegant lunch, or romantic dinner our beautifully decorated cake shop is the perfect place. Please note, for Afternoon Tea reservations, please contact our Events team directly.

Delicious three-layer cakes, as well as cheesecakes, pies, cookies, and other desserts fill our elegantly designed display case and are served daily. For the savory side, we offer an expanded lunch and dinner menu featuring some traditional dishes as well as our signature quiche and chicken salad. Our menu changes seasonally, to ensure every experience is a new one. Everything on our menu is house made from scratch daily with our commitment to the highest quality and ingredients. Gwendolyn's Cake Bake Shop has become the destination of Indianapolis for celebrating birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and all life's special occasions.

    We celebrated our anniversary of our girls adoption and Cake Bake was perfect! Loved the Christmas decorations and all things glitter. Everything was delicious! Thank you for making our day special😊

    Food delicious. Restrooms need a refreshing. Service extremely slow. In fact we waited over 15 min to get drinks. A new table arrived next to us after waiting over 30 min to be seated, and then no one ever came to serve them so they left. I accidentally booked the original. After being to the newer , no comparison in service, cleanliness...brought a friend for her birthday, she is a restaurant owner, and she was noticing how poor the service was. We couldn't figure out why, plenty of servers, only small area to serve. Didn't make sense. They forgot to ever bring my side salad. We were there 2 1/2 hrs and we left immediately after paying. So we didn't hang around , that's how long it took for lunch. It was still beautiful and she enjoyed. But next time will be newer location.

    Celebrated a friend's daughter's 6th birthday here. The staff was great and made her feel extra special. The food was great and the overall experience was very special. We will be back.

    Staff was fantastic. Very playful with children. Christmas twinkle lights and decorations were so nice. Food was great!

    The chicken velvet soup is fantastic. The cavatini is delicious. Today I tried the broccoli quiche and it was very good. The desserts, cookies, cakes and truffles are superb. They have decorated for the holiday season and the ambience is spectacular. Today was the fourth year we have been on Veterans day. Highly recommend ❤️

    Very disappointing compared to the Carmel location. Crowded and noisy; just too small. Both of our hot sandwiches were served cold—never heated, the cheese not melted and the bread not toasted (making the Croque Madam, in particular, a soggy mess). The burrata was supposed to have pesto, walnuts, and smoked sea salt—but did not. The onion soup was good , the dessert was great; but this was far too expensive a meal to be so disappointing. I would have sent two of the meals back if the waitress had come back to check on us. But it seemed impossible in that crowded, tiny room to get a server’s attention. I have been to the Carmel location many times with nothing but great experiences. Honestly, though I doubt I’ll be back to either. I might order cake to go, but never dinner again; for certain. For some reason, when I booked through open table the reservation came up for two instead of three. I immediately messaged the correction in the app. When we arrived for our 6:00 reservation they told us that only two of us could be seated. They couldn’t accomodate three. I went back to the open table app and booked a table for three at 6:15 and they seated us. …but they were going to to let us walk rather than solving that problem for us. Why did I have to make that very simple correction myself?
