   Disappointing! Returned there after 1 year and the items from the main menu have very small portions now. I added shrimp in addition to his steak for my son and he got one single shrimp. The size might be appropriate for a 5-7 course menu, but certainly not for a stand-alone dish. The food also lacked any special flavor it had before. It nearly felt like the chef was on vacation. We went to Remise in Bonn two days later and the experience there was significantly better.

   Strandhaus is a real gem in Bonn. The food was excellent and the matching wines added to the taste. Well done! But most important was the nice, relaxed atmosphere, combined with friendly and very professional service. The location is not straightforward, but very much worth the walk from the city centre. When in Bonn, do visit the Strandhaus!

   This is one of the only creative fine-dining restaurants in Bonn. The service was spectacular, the seating, the ambience. The food was also excellent but there were some misses, some flavors a bit too heavy/salty.

   We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary there last Friday. We chose to eat indoors and have an early dinner as we wanted a quieter experience. The management had created so much of space between the tables due to the Covid19 worries, that we had a lot of privacy and it was very pleasant. It became busier after 7:30pm, but we were already eating our main course by then. We shared three starters - GEEISTES TOMATEN-PAPRIKA-SÜPPCHEN, CARPACCIO VON MARINIERTER WASSERMELON and both were very good. We found the TERIAKI VOM AHRENHORSTER WALLERFILET extremely salty. As for the mains I had LAMMCARRÉE and my husband the SEMEROLLE VOM KALB 60/180. He ended up helping me with the lamb as I was quite full from the appetizers. We both thought the lamb was excellent. Funny the restaurant is called Strandhaus when their meat dishes outdo their seafood. As for the desserts, we went a bit overboard and suffered from the huge portions. I'd recommend to just go for the variation, which is just right to be shared amongst two people. Conclusion - We'll definitely dine there again, but will go for the meat dishes.
