I was not impressed! From the beginning I was annoyed…first time visitor and could not find the front door. No signage, lots of possible entrances. Walk in, it’s dark and dreary…I see a woman with their head lying on the bar. The host was upbeat. Took us to our seats, waitress will be right with you. Well what seemed like forever, the girl lying on the bar waltz over. She’s my waitress! Let me get to the point. We had to move because there were so many flies and there were still flies. I got the cheese steak egg rolls. Yucko! Total concept ruined. They have cabbage in them…I was open to it thinking it might add a crunch. It was like a salad bag of coleslaw add mushrooms and some type of meat. Awful. The wings…I can’t accurately rate because I wanted to try all their sauces. They did let me get the wings naked and sauce on the side. That’s why I did give them a 3. I only got 5 wings. My friend ordered the chicken quesadillas and she said they were decent. I ordered a seasonal cocktail and our bill was $56 or so bucks. Waitress was nice but did not check in, and clearly could see there was piles of uneaten food. Didn’t ask how it was. I put our dirty dishes on the next table. I just thought the whole experience was poor!

I really like the River House both for the food and location as it is a great place to meet between Harrisburg and Lancaster. The food is always delicious. We had French Onion Soup, salads, and calamari because we were there for lunch. I have been there before for dinners and the only difference is that it is a sports bar so the noise level reflects that fact. I highly recommend River House for great food and friendly Staff.

Food and service was good. Our bill got messed up, but was fixed. Menu items were slightly expensive compared to other area restaurants, however they have great specials. There were several tables occupied. Noise level was slightly elevated. My husband had some issues trying to hear the couple we dined with across the table.

Sliders were great - shrimp tacos cold. I’ve never had fish or shrimp tacos served cold. When I mentioned to waiter he had them sent back and came back cold again.

Food was delicious. Had a rack of BBQ ribs which was gigantic. Menu said $29 but bill said $30. It came with no sides. Ordered side salad for $5 which was great. Asked for side of Asparagus which was a bit of a joke. FOUR spears in a dish. Cost $5 also. Son ordered chicken tenders and fries but we were shortly informed they were out of chicken tenders. Settled for boneless chicken wings (not sure what the difference is honestly). Nice outdoor area. Cocktails a bit pricey. Overall an ok experience. Glad I finally went to check it out. Not sure I'd make the trip back again though.

If I was giving this place a letter grade, I would give it a solid C. There was nothing glaringly wrong with it, but there was also nothing outstanding about it either. My wife got the fish and chips, while I got a half-rack of ribs and a side of fries. The fries on both our orders were limp/soggy and barely warm. The ribs were tender and falling off the bone, but the barbecue sauce was nearly indistinguishable from ketchup. My wife also got a blackberry mojito from the bar that she said was good, and I got a margarita on the rocks that seemed to be straight out of a premade bottle. I would not rule out returning here, but I also am in no rush to get back.
