Limited menu of food they do well . The artisanal cheese platter was too basic . Potato wedges are fantastic. Chocolate tart and homemade ice cream was delicious.

We lived in NJ until a year ago and frequently enjoyed Rats. This visit was quite disappointing. Our server was great but the menu and food were not. Both were much better in the past. Also the restaurant’s management was not accommodating when we wanted to add a couple of chairs (there was plenty of room) but fortunately our server had the good sense to take care of it anyway. It’s unlikely that we will return any time soon.

The atmosphere is definitely what you are paying for! The food was good and the service was very good. The prices were high and there was not much of a selection. What we did have we enjoyed. The carrot soup was great and the short ribs delicious! We enjoyed it very much.

Waitress was rude and dismissive; food choices were poor. Waitress said there were no mussels eft, then went to the next table 5 minutes later and said she found some! I asked, she said there were none left. My fish was dried out and had no vegetable. A side of broccoli would have been extra and had GOOSE fat on it. It was my birthday and I and my guests were treated extremely poorly, except at the bar. That waitress should be fired. I was embarrassed because I had raved to my cousins about this restaurant and they traveled an hour to get there.

Our server Nick was great and the short ribs were delicious. We had a nice time. We sat upstairs in the side room and it was very intimate.
