Executive Chef Chris Eddy approaches his craft with the core values of "integrity and culinary artistry," promising "solidness is our signature." Winvian's is dedicated to exceed expectations and meet the needs of individual guests, as it is second nature. The menu changes daily, remaining connected to surrounding land and larger community. To compliment our food philosophy, we have put together an extensive wine list of 350 labels from 13 countries and 37 different regions with the emphasis on USA, France and Italy.                       Classic old New England style with exclusive vibe. Lovely grounds and a peaceful setting. The Tavern had a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. We enjoyed eating in the sunny solarium watching nature and seeing the chef run out to the garden to pick an herb or such for a plate he was preparing. Doesn’t get fresher than that!

                      Made a reservation for Saturday afternoon for a table of 3 on our way to a Norfolk concert. We drove an hour out of our way to stop for lunch and I specifically requested an outdoor table because last time we enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden near the stream. We arrived at 12:45 and literally not one person was seated outside so they sat us inside. I inquired with the female maître d about the 4 top set for 3 on the patio and mentioned we requested a table outdoors. I was told it was reserved for someone else. She came back and offered to seat us at a table for 2 on the patio - again, there were 3 of us and literally not one person sitting outside, every table was open. We didn’t want to argue so we remained at our table inside. One hour later, still nobody seated outside and a single man arrived and was seated at the preset 3 top that we were told was reserved. He dined by himself at the 4 top that was preset for 3 - the table we requested. What is the purpose of a reservation if your reservation is completely disregarded? It ruined or experience. I will say that food is always delicious - though a note, the bolognese claims to be served with “hand rolled pasta” and is absolutely not! It’s dried pasta, which is served perfectly al dente.

                      The ambiance is elegant and comfortable. The service was so professional and friendly. The food was outstanding. I highly recommend the Winvian.

                      We had lunch here for the first time on the 4th of July! This little place is so lovely and quiet. The service was very attentive. Everyone we encountered was great! The ambience was perfect— we sat outside overlooking the resort grounds and we even got a nice little walk in after our meal touring the property. Our meal was delicious, everything had the right amount of flavor and it was the perfect portion of food for us. We both ordered cocktails which were decorated with a fresh flower from the garden, a really nice touch! We definitely plan on coming back!

                      Went for lunch for our Anniversary. Beautiful Day. We sat outside … the property is so beautiful. Staff couldn’t be kinder and more attentive. Strawberry Mojitos were super.

                      We came for lunch on Father'sDay. We were able to get a drink at the bar and walk the grounds before our reservation. Rachel in the restaurant and Cheryl in the Spa (that we were able to tour) were very welcoming and hospitable to my family and I. Cannot wait to return. Thank you :)

                      First your website should clearly that lunch on Sunday is not a Sunday dinner as one would expect, so that was disappointing. Our meal would have been fine for a weekday lunch out but as a Sunday meal that was supposed to be a special occasion it was a letdown. The meal itself was alright but not what I would expected by the reviews

                      Best summer lunch ever! Service is impeccable, the food is delicious, with the freshest of ingredients and who doesn’t love an outdoor terrace next to a quaint babbling brook?

                      Lovely lunch and we were able to enjoy much conversation in a private atmosphere. The fresh trout was outstanding, as was a beautiful fresh spring salad. We typically have dinner at The Winvian and I was looking forward to trying a week day lunch. Always nice to see familiar faces from over the years, consistently providing personal and excellent service. Winvian never disappoints.
