The White Lion Hankelow, a beautiful Cheshire country pub filled with generous stocks of Cheshire craft ales, a tip top wine menu and a cocktail list featuring classics and seasonally inspired creations.

When it comes to food we only use the best local and seasonal produce, our menu showcases our
chef’s passion for refined and elegant pub classics mixed with contemporary flavours and techniques.

With a mixture of seating inside ranging from intimate nooks, to warm and cosey snugs by the fire and stunning private dining rooms, to an expansive outside space perfect for catching the sun with an ice cold drink.

Was disappointed 😞 We ordered 4 rump steaks cooked differently but all were cold and when queried which one was medium rare, it was ‘it must be that one’ so no certainty. I complained about the cold food but no options or apology given to us. Very quiet for a Saturday night. Don’t think I’ll return sadly

We dined on valentines evening The menu was great the seating was upstairs away from the noisy bar area which was appropriate for valentine diners The the staff always friendly there and service was quick and efficient !! ❤️

Thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday Lunch. We both had the roast beef and shared the cheese platter afterwards. Both absolutely delicious. Good portions. Excellent service from our waitress and wine waiter. Our table was downstairs in the snug, next to the log burner which was cosy on a very cold winter’s day. We will definitely be returning.

My husband had the beef Sunday lunch. He asked for the beef pink, which it was. I had the veggie Sunday lunch and was very disappointed. It was just the normal lunch vegetables with three pieces of roasted sweet potato. Very boring veggie option. We both had sweets which very nice Service was very good. My husband would go again but I would not.

Superb meal. 5 friends enjoying fish and chips for £13 each on a Friday night! The fish was huge and the batter was light and tasty. I really have nothing but praise. The staff were friendly and attentive as always 10 out of 10

Another Christmas Eve where I had to go chase my meal forgot about us again after such a good start .

Sadly after high expectations and a planned festive get together for lunch with friends our visit was not one to e repeated. Having ordered 4 of the Turkey with 'all' the trimmings meals to be followed by desserts it all went downhill when the meals arrived. Quite simply the meals were a very very poor example of a Christmas lunch - from a cold plates to cool poor quality food. The dauphinoise potatoes sadly had more in common with a hash brown, the turkey (should be the star on the plate) was far too uniform and cold, the tiny amount of so-called chestnut stuffing hidden was simply a puree and texture and not pleasant at all. The occasion was simply ruined, meals and drinks unfinished and certainly no dessert ordered. The only redeeming feature was that the staff were both polite and understanding in dealing with this unfortunate not to be repeated event and I was appreciative of that. The highlight of the afternoon was that we were able to get a table at Cheerbrooks cafe which is consistently superb serving quite simply the most delicious scones, clotted cream with raspberry jam.
