Am 21.12. habe ich die Reservation für den 31.12.2023 vorgenommen. Diese Reservation wurde mir per mail bestätigt und am 30.12.2023 nochmals per Mail nachgefragt, ob wir die Reservation nach wie vor in Anspruch nehmen, was ich unmittelbar mit dem angehängten Button bestätigt habe. Am 31.12. dann pünktlich vor Ort wurde uns der zutritt verweigert, da sie Reservationen via OpenTable nicht annehmen!!!!! Dass es an Silvester schwierig ist zu dieser Zeit einen Tisch für 3 Personen zu erhalten, ist hinlänglich bekannt..... Enttäuschung pur.....auch das sehr aggressive Verhalten der Empfangs"dame" trug nicht zu einer Stimmungsaufhellung bei!

Cordiale Walter, lo staff di Trattoria Zaccaria volentieri vuole accogliervi in caso di disponibilità posti, purtroppo eravamo occupati, ci dispiace che le abbiamo fatto percepire il senso d' aggressività, questa non è la nostra intenzione ci vediamo alla prossima per venire a provare la cucina i migliori saluti dallo staff

We reserved our table weeks in advance. When we got there they did not have a table ready but we had to wait outside and a smaller table for two left just inside the door opened up so they set it for four and seated us there. We did not get into the main dining area which was very disappointing after making and verifying our reservation so they knew we were coming. In about 10 minutes another couple left a small two top table and they pushed it over so they had room to deliver plates for four, essentially we sat at two separate tables instead of together at a larger table and we were just inside the door and not the main dining area. Our food was hit and miss, the pasta dishes were good but the grilled octopus was salty and a bit rubbery. We had order the grilled octopus the previous night at another restaurant and it was so delicious we wanted to try it again but it was a disappointment. We ate just a small piece and couldn’t do any more. When they cleared the plates I thought they might have noticed we didn’t eat it and ask about it but they just took it all away. The whole experience was disappointing and I would not recommend this restaurant when there are so many other restaurants to try.

The food was some of the best we have eaten in Venice, and would recommend it to anyone. Unfortunately the service was really poor which was extremely disappointing. We were seated very quickly, with a side of warm bread delivered to our table, however, with nothing to accompany them with, quite minor and these were brought over when asked. We proceeded to order our starters and mains, the starters arrived within 10 minutes and the food was delicious, the mains arrived a further 10 minutes later without the sides, we gave it a couple of minutes and started our food, the sides had been forgotten about and arrived after we completed our main meals which was disappointing and no apology was provided. The desert came out and was delicious. There is an older Italian waiter in the restaurant and he was great, polite and chatty, but he left at 9pm and everyone was practically useless. It took 20 minutes just to get the bill. If the management had a staff shake up it would be brilliant!

We had dinner a little earlier so it was nice and quiet, service was excellent, our server had the quiet professional reserve that was very calming, appropriate for the ambience Dinner was perfectly cooked

What a gem in the middle of Venice. Smaller restaurant with a refined menu. Delicious meal, and impeccable, friendly and attentive service.

There are so many trattorias across Venice, and most seem to principally exist on the tourist trade. Trattoria Zaccaria is one of them, to be sure. But its a cut above in a few important ways: the menu is both a little more limited and a little inventive; and the atmosphere is more refined, with upholstered seating and a margin of elegance. The staff was entirely solicitous. A lovely dinner overall.
