Welcome to casual waterfront dining at its best. Yes, we have a stunning waterfront location overlooking the Currituck Sound, but our goal is to be a great restaurant that just happens to have a great view. From casual, familiar fare to elevated, creative originals, we offer something for everyone. Chef Davis is a 2024 James Beard Finalist for Best Chef South East. A native of North Carolina, he started in the restaurant at age 16 and has cooked all throughout the south. He prides himself on his relationships with local fisherman and farmers, and crafting simple dishes showcasing the freshest regional and seasonal products. This exceptional six-course dinner is a celebration of North Carolina’s rich culinary bounty, brought to life by the creative collaboration of these two talented chefs.     It was our first trip to the Outer Banks, and we went to the Village Table and Tavern for my wife's birthday. We had a wonderful server, a perfect table by the water, and we really enjoyed our meal. We shared the Chicken and Waffles appetizer. It was very good. The tenders were a little rubbery (probably because they were frozen); however, the breading on the tenders was INCREDIBLE and the maple syrup was fabulous. The waffles were also very good. So, an 8/10 there. Then, we split the Roasted Half Chicken with amazingly good mashed potatoes, and we subbed the green beans for the broccoli au gratin. The chicken was good, but the broccoli was out of this world. We ordered an additional side of it, just to have some more. So, a 10/10 on the entree and additional side of broccoli au gratin. My wife was tired, so we didn't do a dessert for her birthday. It was a great experience, and we will definitely return on our next trip to the OBX.

    Great food! Company and atmosphere! We had a hard day working on the house in Duck and looking for a great place to relax in January.

    Village Table and Tavern is our favorite restaurant on the OBX. We visit for dinner every time we go to our beach house. This visit was for a special occasion, New Year's Eve, but we are just as likely to go there for a casual week night meal. Tonight provided the best sunset on Currituck Sound, along with a superbly prepared three course meal, accompanied by glasses of "bubbly". John, the owner, was making the rounds and greeting everyone, making us feel welcome. it was a great way to begin the new year...and the nice thing is, our favorite neighborhood restaurant is open all winter..unusual for the OBX, but John cares about his regular customers.

    Our waiter was nice and the restaurant was pretty, but unfortunately our meals were just awful. 4 of us dined and no one liked a single dish - they ranged from bland to inedible. There were other small details that also fell short. The water had an off-putting smell and taste, and for the price of the entrees, it should include a side salad or bread or something. We won’t be back.
