Located in the heart of historic Genesee Depot just down the road from the famous Ten Chimneys you will find the Union House. Known for its unique menu featuring wild game fused with classic fine dining, our mission is to bring people together while creating a memorable dining experience surrounded by historic photos of the town along with Union House frequenters, Lynn Fontanne and Alfred Lunt. The menu is driven by ingredients and is constantly developing throughout the year led by award-winning Executive Chef and General Manager, Dan Harrell and Executive Sous Chef, Christian Garcia-Cortez. We feature an extensive wine, scotch and bourbon list highlighting selections from around the United States and world along with barrel-aged old fashioneds and Manhattans that include our very own hand-crafted bitters. We look forward to having you join us!

Excellent service and a pleasant ambiance, but the dim lighting makes it difficult to see the food being served. The prices are on the higher side, and while the server introduced the daily specials, the prices were not mentioned.

My colleague and I truly enjoyed our drinks and meals. Our server, a gentleman, was knowledgeable about every item we asked about. My colleague had the scallops and raved about them, and I had the lamb chops with a beet sauce, which were fantastic. This is a go to place in the middle of our beautiful Wisconsin countryside. I’ve been there several times and will return again.

Two of our group were celebrating birthdays, so dining at Union House was an excellent choice. Our waitress and our food choices were wonderful. This restaurant is a first class business. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We started off the night with drinks and a couple of apps. My fiancé had the lobster bisque which was tasty but kind of salty but if you ate it with the crusty top it did help. While it was good I am not sure if we would order it again. I ordered the crabcake which was good and loved the flavor of it. Both came out hot and in a proper amount of time. So, you didn’t feel rushed, but you didn’t feel like you had to wait forever. For the entre I had the steak, and she had the scallops. The scallops were amazing, perfectly cooked and loved the flavor of the dish. My fiancé found them to be spicy, but it doesn’t take much for her. I had the Ribeye steak which had a great cook on it. I do with it maybe had a bit more salt or something to it, the wine reduction more than made up for that. The scalloped potatoes could almost be a dish upon itself with tasty they were. Dish was great but I have had better cuts, at a fraction of the price. But on their defense, I have a hard time ordering a steak anywhere because I am rarely impressed, even though I love a good steak. Will we go back, yes, I can see us going there again.

Dining at the Union House is an experience that no other location can offer. From the moment you step into the the restaurant, you are welcomed into a small business that has a pleasant atmosphere and refined ambiance. Without a doubt, the food is spectacular! We enjoyed the Beef Carpaccio as a starter, followed by the classic Baked French Onion Soup and House Salad. For dinner, I enjoyed the Scallop Dish and my boyfriend had the Lamb Chops (We both struggled to decide which was better). Even if you’re full, the Affogato ice cream drink is a must-have for dessert! Regarding service, Gordo was informative without being intrusive, the perfect balance of professionalism and personality. I will be back again!

Our dining out level is probably a little more than average; with one or two nights a week, and at least one really nice dinner each month. Our go-to restaurant for the upscale dining experience is The Union House. Always good service, always good food, and the staff is always excellent. We really appreciate the history of the building itself but also the photos on the walls. As an extra bonus, the music is absolute perfection for upscale dining.

Both food and service are a solid very good. The restaurant has a great old school ambiance, dark wood and dim lighting, a great place for a special Wisconsin night out.

The wild game feature is one of my favorites. Professional staff. Very attentive. Extensive bourbon menu is always appreciated. Worth the price by far.
