   Ritz Carlton asked us to book here for NYE at their Lobby Lounge for which we paid $100 in advance. Then they started giving out tickets complementary for hotel guests. We didn’t get a table, in spite of having paid, and booked ahead and staying at the hotel. We didn’t get our champagne toast. We were told they would refund us, but nothing refunded so far.

   Advertised as table for 2 available. Few tables set up so no tables for 2 available. Service was excellent, however.

   Teddy Bear Tea We have enjoyed this event annually for many years. The savory portion and the tea options were average at best. The dessert portion was excellent. It is way overpriced but still a neat event. Honestly though we will likely skip the tea in future years and just do happy hour at the sushi bar instead. The Tea price is close to the price of afternoon tea at the Plaza in NYC but does not hold a candle to the Plaza’s tea.

   They didn’t have the reservation but quickly setup a for my daughter, wife and mother. They loved the experience.

   We loved the spooky tea! The snacks and drinks were tasty. We’ve attended a few different themed teas now, and have enjoyed them all. Kelsey and team always ensure we have a great time!

   This was a special event : bubbles & blooms. Have to say that the atmosphere was the best part. Other than that, it was severely overpriced for what it was. You receive three tiny tea sandwiches. Our waitress only let us sample two out of the three teas. And then there’s three tiny tea, desserts. I did not want the desserts and was not allowed to trade out for sandwiches instead. You had to pay $20 per glass of bubbles. You were charged an extraordinate tax plus Mandatory 25% gratuity. And the flowers were underwhelming. They did not remember to acknowledge my friend’s bday eventhough it was preplanned and discussed- and there was signage for other bdays on tables. I would not come again!

    We went for the afternoon tea up on the terrace. The place was set up really cute and the decorations and presentation were great. However, the food was just OK, and service was not good. Nothing was explained to us as it was dropped off. Our server didn’t know the answers to any of our questions and had to send over someone else to explain nearly everything. That being said, we hardly saw our server. She did not check on us, we had to wave her over if we needed something. I was going to order a glass of wine or champagne, but it was so hard to get the server over there, that I just didn’t. I’m surprised, because usually servers are trying to upsell so they can make more money. Then, as we received our check, we noticed there is a 25% gratuity added to the check. The service was definitely not worth 25%. Not even 20%. So now I can tell why the servers were attentive, because they knew they were making money anyway. We sat there for an hour and our server made $60 on us. And she had multiple other tables. That’s more than a nurse makes in an hour. Kind of wild. Definitely overpriced at $120 a person plus tax and 25% gratuity. Will not be recommending this afternoon tea experience to others. Definitely not up to the standards that I am used to while dining at the Ritz.
