   Went for a steak to find out couldn’t have one has grill was broken so asked for BBQ burger couldn’t have one so had to settle for a southern fried chicken burger

   I have used the Nailers Arms for a good few years but this will be my last visit. I visited with my wife (we were first in the restaurant) and our order was taken just after midday. As per our usual practice my wife ordered a carvery whilst I ordered off the menu. Normally the item off the menu arrives quickly so my wife waited over a quarter of an hour and then went to get her carvery meal. Over half an hour after placing our order my food finally arrived and I had already chased it up with the waitrss who had taken our order. My order has always arrived with butter to go with the boiled potatoes but not this time so I asked the waitress to bring some . Despite asking for the butter none was forthcoming so I asked at the bar for some. The waitress who had taken both the original order and my request for butter finally brought and just placed it on the table in what can only be descibed as a surly manner. My meal was very good but my wife's carvery could and should have been hotter. When I left I did not leave a tip . Normally I always leave a tip because of the quality of the food and good service. I will not be eating there again.

   Did not go for carvery. I chose from the menu ..the fish was beautifully cooked and the choice of accompanying dishes was a good idea. My friends carvery looked well cooked and she said was lovely. Desert was nice but a tad expensive for just a couple of scoops of ice cream

   Really helpful regarding my lactose intolerance. Gave me a list which, compared to other places, was very easy to follow. Nothing was too much trouble, all staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. Only thing I couldn't have was yorkshire pudding, chef serving meat couldn't tell me what milk was used so avoided just in case. At home I make with lactose free milk or soya milk. You can't taste any difference, maybe you could give it a try. Still wouldn't stop me coming back as I enjoyed my carvery regardless it just would have been the nice to have the choice.

   Carvery counter staff seemed short staffed. Had to wait for meat to come out, cauliflower cheese bowl and stuffing bowl were empty. Stuffing took 10 mins as it was still in oven cooking.

   Sunday carvery as good as ever excellent in fact everything cooked to perfection, staff very friendly

   Had car very usually best around but last night the veg, potatoes and seasoning etc had not been replenished so what was there was not the best.

   Service and the food were lovely. It was very quiet on our visit and we were sat in a corner booth so there wasn't much ambience at the time.

   We always have a great carvery and enjoy our food at the Nailers Arms, thank you. A great choice of fresh food and good quality meats to choose from.
