   Wenn ich ein Menü kaufe mit Vorspeise und Hauptgang sollte man davon ausgehen, das man satt wird + überteuerte Getränke + Servicegebühr. War zwar lecker aber das hat nicht einmal für eine Kindportion gereicht.

   Ist ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen. Das essen ist gut aber teuer. Der Service ist nett, freundlich und hilfsbereit.

   Booked the Ivy Edinburgh for Mothers Day...what a huge disappointment. The service was awful from start to finish. Our table wasn't ready, we were after 10 mins ushered to the bar area where we waited around 10 mins to be offered a drink whilst the barman was on his phone. We then after 20 mims got our table, we waited over an hour for our main course which was ok but not great for the price. At know point did anyone come to the table to offer another drink or ask us if it was ok. The quickest thing was when they brought is the bill and card machine straight after! Very poor and expensive for what we got.

   Loved where we were seated downstairs in a corner (though i think i'd choose upstairs next time) The tables however were very small and tightly packed together to properly enjoy an afternoon tea. I have definitely had afternoon teas in grander surroundings. The food was lovely and service also excellent. Particulary great was the inclusion of crême bruleé. Have never seen that on an afternoon tea before anywhere and i do love a crême bruleé! Good teapots, always essential. Just marking down slightly as, for a proper posh tea experience, you really want a table large enough to fit everything on comfortably and a wider space around your table.

   As someone who has coeliac and is also vegetarian I found the 1917 2 course meal a bit disappointing. I had a choice of one starter. And a choice of one main once it had been tweaked.

    This was only my second visit to the Edinburgh restaurant - the first was a fab experience, but yesterday (21/3) wasn’t so good, unfortunately. The service was dreadfully slow and we waited quite a while to have our order taken - drinks also took quite a time to arrive. One of the Heritage starters (we both wanted the original, prawns) was substituted - my friend didn’t like any of the choices but the Manager wasn’t willing to compromise with a smaller version/half of a sharing plate. The saving grace was a very efficient, attentive and pleasant wine waiter (Australian?)
