The Italiano, the newest masterpiece by Chef Joey Maggiore and his team of culinary geniuses, located at 90th Street and Shea Blvd. in Scottsdale, the elevated Italian restaurant will be The Maggiore Group’s sixth concept introduced to the Valley’s award-winning dining scene.

The Italiano exudes an ambiance of casual elegance, blending warmth with sophistication, while offering authentic Italian dishes that transport you to the very heart of culinary tradition in Italy. The menu will feature the flavors of old-school red sauce Italian cuisine with a Chef Joey touch. Interactive tableside experiences will include an antipasto cart where guests can curate their own plate with over 30 different items. There will also be a must-try Limoncello cocktail cart and a Zabaione dessert cart.

The Italiano's lounge and bar will be open at 3pm, and reservations will begin at 5pm for main dining.

Great Food, Great enviorment, Great service. Has a luxury feel but maintains comfortablilty for a casual night out! Service was amazing on top of everything!

Superb food, wonderful waiting staff (Christopher couldn’t have been nicer and very attentive) Had an enjoyable birthday celebration dinner. Loved the piano man music also.

Terrific vibe here and the food was excellent. The restaurant felt very uptown and “buzzy”. Creative plating, which was really fun! You should be aware that it was a little on the noisy side, if that’s an issue for you.

If you like ambience more than food this is the place for you. The good news - this place is esthetically lovely from the décor to the table settings. The bad news - the food is terrible. I tried the Calamari appetizer which was fine. The "Caprese" salad was untraditional at best. Lots of roasted peppers and not much cheese or tomatoes for that matter. The mixed grill was just plain terrible. the "saffron rice cake" tasted like something that came out of a freezer after being stored there for years. The chicken was tough and tasteless. The sausage was overcooked. The single shrimp was fine - very bland. The shrimp and chicken had breadcrumbs on them which did nothing to enhance the dish. My suggestion - marinate these items in olive oil/garlic and rosemary, skip the creepy breadcrumbs and grill them just until they are cooked (not drastically overcooked). Serve with lemons or some kind of sauce. Because seriously, this entrée was NOT good. We had the lemon dessert. It was like lemon meringue pie with 70% crust and 30% pie. Tasted fine...weird consistency. No need to go back. There are lots and lots of decent Italian places in the area...this isn't one of them.

Great looking restaurant. Piano player throughout the evening. Table for 6 was pretty small. Service was excellent. Food was just fair, my chicken parm was very thin, overcooked and the cheese wasn’t melted properly. My husband had salmon which he enjoyed, the chicken vesuvio did nit look like any I’ve seen before. Mixed drinks were good but glasses/quantity were quite small. Deserts were different and tasty(spumoni cake and a cannoli cigar)

Food was served cold and the risotto cake was almost inedible even after being replaced with a warmer version. The veal was watery and the carbonara was like reheated Mac and cheese with bacon. Very poor and expensive.

Food was ok, not great. Services was initially slow but very good thereafter. Loud. Ambience is what they are after. “All sizzle, no steak” as they say.
