Started off really well, nice introduction with a rose and being brought to our table. We were given a heads up about the menu and what was available. Then we got a different server.
And for me, it went downhill from there. I found the server not very pleasant. We were denied the chance to change to preferred seating, although other diners were given that choice as an "exception".
We were allowed to move to a more comfortable table and chairs, but the table we asked for was not allowed despite another couple showing up an hour later and being given that table (OpenTable doesn't specify those tables had to be asked for, but correct me if I am wrong).
The next disappointing part was the fact that one of the desserts we wanted to order, could not be ordered despite the Valentine's menu not specifically pointing out it had to be shared. They did point out one item though in the dessert menu to be shared, but not what I wanted to order. There was no "exception" for that either unfortunately.
The food was okay, my wife was happy with her order. Personally, I felt the first and second course were meh. The oysters didn't taste nice (also shared), and the prawn cocktail from Tesco is tastier than what they gave me.
Mains was a fillet of steak, with peppercorn sauce and some charred veg. Decent, but I could tell it was sitting under a hot plate and not made fresh to order.
I had to settle for a creme brulee with ice cream and my wife got the cheesecake. Better than I expected, wife said the cheesecake tasted like it was from a box. They also give two glasses of prosecco which was drier than Gandhi's flip flops, but it's the thought that counts.
I wouldn't recommend based on my experience, I thought for the money paid, I've had better experiences elsewhere. But it's Valentine's and everywhere is typically booked up unless you've been super early trying to book a spot.
This was a hit and hope booking. It didn't pay off in the end, but judge for yourself nonetheless.

Our waiter Alex was very attentive checking on us for drinks & service throughout the meal. We went for the Sunday Roast Club in the Hawthorn , food was amazing &plentiful. The meat was cooked to perfection , it was great to learn the meat was Irish. We got the exclusive wine pairing to go with it, the white was woody & smoky which complemented it perfectly. Overall it was the most enjoyable Sunday with friends and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for something different & exciting in Dublin 3 as service and food was above and beyond . Will definitely will be back .

Nick was amazing and our server Alex was excellent! Food and drinks were fabulous! We were early to our reservation but still sat down immediately. I got the hawthorn burger- it was the best burger I’ve ever had. When I asked where the bathroom is, Nick actually walked me there! So nice! I loved the atmosphere and was very comfortable.
