The year was 1943, and Jim and Alice Wimmer decided to take a big risk, buying a small existing roadside restaurant known for its char-broiled steaks. How fitting that in 2018, the restaurant's 75th anniversary year, the third generation of Wimmers, Amy Wimmer, takes the helm from her father Jeff and his wife Jane, bringing her own adventurous spirit to the Del-Bar, the same kind of spirit she so admired in her grandparents.                                                     The food quality is very good. The service is MEH. We frequent Del-Bar quite often and we are so tired of being at the mercy of one single server. If you get a great server that is efficient, quick on the drinks, checking the status, etc., then the dining experience is quite great. If you get a server that has too many tables, is not attentive, arrogant or doesn't listen, then you will have a poorer experience. So Often our server is non-existent and non-attentive. For the money you are spending at this establishment, the service should be fantastic, but that is rarely the case. When you order a drink, you should order two, since it may take the server a very long time to either notice you need another drink, or to get you one. I asked to have several items boxed up to take home, however, they were never given back. I had to ask about them, and then I got a replacement of one item. I really enjoy the food, but the service drives me crazy. One other thing that is annoying is the placement of tables. You are constantly looking directly at another person at another table. The seating should be a little more staggered to allow patrons to not be in the direct line of sight of other patrons. It makes it difficult to have a private dining experience with the person you are with.

                                                    Everything was excellent; three of us had the bone in Ribeye with the bone marrow butter and all three steaks were cooked perfectly. Another one of our group had the filet which was also perfect. One had the a spicy shrimp over linguine dish which was also very good. The ONLY slight disappointment was the strawberry schaum torte. It seemed to be tackier/chewier than the last time I had it. It was sticking to my teeth which I don't recall from the first time I ordered it.

                                                    Food and service were incredible. Had a little mix up with our oysters but the freshness and taste of the variety of em were amazing and made up for the wait. At first I was sketchy about the pricing but you really get every penny and more of what you pay for through the entire experience. Highly recommend and will be going back. Drinks are amazing as well with very large selection

                                                    Had a great dinner at the Del Bar in Lake Delton, WI. We have been their numerous times and not once have we had a a bad meal or poor service. The service (Shane was the server) was excellent as always. And the food again was outstanding. My wife had huge sea scallops with squash with brussel sprouts as the side. Very very good except a little light on the squash as far as quantity. I had the lobster roll, hash browns and french onion soup. Also, very very good. However, I prefer a warm lobster roll instead of the cold roll. Just my preference. We also bought a $200 gift card and received an extra $40 for use in the future. Great marketing by the Del Bar. Definitely we will be back again and again and again.

                                                    We have lived in Reedsburg since 1984 and visit the Del Bar often. The best restaurant on the planet. Expensive and worth every penny. This was the first time we sat in the room on the north side. It was very noisy. But still a great experience.
