I think we picked the wrong day to go for a meal, unbeknown to us there was a wedding on when we arrived. The staff looked surprised when I said that we had a table booked, I had also had a confirmation the day before to asking if we would be attending, which I confirmed that we were. The dining room was empty when we went in, it seemed really strange to be there on our own - I was with my husband and my friend who was staying with us. The staff were running about all over the place, seeing to the wedding party in the room next door. When our server came to the table with the menus and to take our drinks order, he informed us we could have an hour's wait for our food, due to the wedding party, which we weren't too happy about. We carried on to order our food and requested a jug of water for the table. The water didn't arrive, so my friend went to find the server who had forgotten all about it. Our meal arrived within twenty minutes, so we were pleased for that, we all chose from the Sunday lunch menu. A tiny bowl of green veg arrived with a half full gravy boat, so we asked for extra of both and that was brought straight away. Overall the meal wasn't brilliant, it was luke warm and cold by the time we were finished. The beef was a little tough, the belly pork wasn't rendered down enough and was hard to eat and even with the extra gravy was dry. Once we'd got our meals we didn't see a member of staff again to see if everything was alright or to ask for the bill, so I went and stood at the till until someone arrived. Such a shame, as I'd highly recommended it to my friend and if I'd known what it was like, I'd have gone elsewhere. Very disappointed.

Nice atmosphere and excellent service. Would be improved by having a wider choice of main courses. What I had was good though .

We were surprised at the poor quality of service, orders incorrect. Food lacking flavour. What redeemed the meal was the Tiramisu deliciousness

Last minute family lunch - good choice though! Service was great, nothing too much trouble - even provided a highchair for the baby. Food was fab, most had beef and agreed was very tasty and the nut roast was delicious ("naked" burger arrived with all the trimmings but was quickly remedied). Desserts were great - creme brulee looked a tiny portion but certainly wasn't - very filling. The baby became a bit fractious so we tried soothing in reception and staff were very friendly and said that the baby was a guest too and wasn't being noisy, which Mum appreciated. Thank you for the great food and friendly welcoming staff. Recommend and will be back. Side note - haven't been to the Croft Spa for a few years and love the makeover, well done!

2nd visit for Sunday lunch, meat (beef) was terrible this time very tough and stringy. Shame because we brought my mother after recommending to her. Veg and desert lovely. Can't fault ambience and service just a shame about the meat.

Second time visiting. Chose here for NYE as last time was lovely. 6 in our party. Seated in very brightly lit restaurant. No festive touches on table. Had to chase pre-dinner cocktails (£9.95 each) which arrived seconds before our starters. Food was ok but sold out of some items. Had to ask for side plates for sharing plates. No one checked on the table and we had to to go to the bar for drinks. Service was polite but inattentive- not great for the money really. There was a wedding on and all attention seemed to be there. A shame as could have been great.
