Von der OpenTable-Redaktion: This Tex-Italian stunner was the original restaurant within the Duro Hospitality group, with sibling spots Mister Charles and El Carlos Elegante going on to make it into the MICHELIN Guide. But first, The Charles set the tone with leopard-spotted banquettes, zebra-striped chairs, golden bauble light fixtures, and other epic design details. Many come here for special occasions, to feast on pillowy lemon ricotta gnudi and octopus charred on the woodfire grill. If the evening calls for a glass of Champagne, start next door at the equally swanky Bar Charles before dinner at The Charles.

Our group of six came here after the opera. The food was amazing. The service was as amazing. We sat in the back room which was new for us. It was the perfect late night dinner at what that night—last night—was a perfect restaurant.

The service was excellent! Our cocktails were exceptional- very well balanced. Our steak tartar entree was divine. But the 2 pasta entrees we had were not good. One tasted exactly like a can of spaghetti Os and the one with wagu beef was utterly tasteless. It literally had no taste. I asked for salt and pepper just to taste something.

My wife and I celebrated our 7th anniversary (lucky 7). From the moment we arrived and was greeted by Oliver at the Valet stand, we felt welcomed by his genuine banter, and he gave great menu recommendations too. Nina our hostess, Chelsea our server and the whole team from Josiah, Nate, Jonathon and Austin, made us feel special celebrating our anniversary at The Charles. We can’t wait to go back and take some friends with us.

I have been to The Charles a few times and I am shocked that it’s not a Michelin star restaurant! The staff, the management, even the Valet staff will treat you like a close friend. The service at The Charles is second to none in the DFW metroplex. Then there’s the amazing food. I’ve had several items off the menu for the past few years and I have never had a bad meal at The Charles. The grilled octopus is a MUST and the best I’ve had anywhere. The other selections are all amazing as well. If you’re in the Dallas area, it’s a must (if you can get a reservation). You won’t be disappointed.
