In the 70s Asian Fishermen that immigrated to the US Gulf Coast took the traditional Louisiana Creole inspired crawfish boil and enhanced the recipe. They added Asian aromatics to the boil - lemon grass, ginger - serving it with garlic butter and a blend of Asian spices. This created a crawfish boil that is full of unique flavors. The Captain's Boil is first in Thornhill to bring you this fresh, flavorful, and fun experience. We take the freshest seafood, toss it in a blend of secret, Asian inspired spices and aromatics. We serve it messy to let you enjoy it in a fun and unique way.

    It would be nice if there was some salad and/or soup to start the meal as seafood alone is not filling enough for me. They should probably include some rice or potatoes to fill you up rather than tack on a mere $2 charges for these added carbs.

    Worst service... Considering it was Valentine's day you would have thought they would have more than a host, a waiter and a bar tender working!

    Food is excellent and tasty. However, they must clean the washroom. not sure chefs were using the washroom to clean their pots and pans, it was very dirty to the point looks like someone puked there. it is a big contras to the dinner room environment. I have seen this comment before about their dirty washroom but I didn't expect to be that bad.

    I like the ambience of the restaurant. We had ordered mussels, shrimps and snow crab legs. The mussels were surprisingly huge, and snow crab legs were a good choice, but the shrimps were a bit disappointing! Overall it was good because my son didn't really want to eat seafood with shells at home but with the apron and the plastic gloves, it became a bit interesting for him and at least he tried to peel the shell off the shrimp!

    Captain's Boil has their signature style of getting into the food with your hands. There were 2 kids in our group and they enjoyed the experience too. I felt it was slightly understaffed, as we could have used a bit more attention. The food was great and we all left the restaurant with full bellies.

    Really good food but felt the price point was awfully high to eat out of a bag with gloves on.

    Great atmosphere and attentive services.... know what to order because some seafood are more shells than meat... I recommend mussels and clams (their clams are huge!) Would go back for special occasions but probably too expensive for regular weekend out for dinner IMO

    Unique restaurant! Eat most food with plastic gloves on. Food is served in plastic bags. The flavor is exceptional and extremely good value for money. Have taken four different couples to share the experience and all loved it.
