   made a reservation like I have many times before; breakfast took 90 minutes and low quality; I had no problem paying high prices in the past when things were running well; management seems to not care; sad collapse of a former favorite

   Rockfish dish was not appealing. Dark meat, skin, mushy potatoes. Expensive, low quality.

   Our waiter let us know before serving us that he was new. Of course, not a problem we understand and more than willing to be patient. We order salads to start off as appetizers. After about 15-20 minutes go by. Still no Salad. We were okay with this of course. We could see that it was busy. We then noticed a table sat down in the same section with he same sever we had. Maybe about another 10 minutes go by we still hadn’t gotten our salads. My girlfriend pointed out that the table that sat after us had received their salads. (Same salads we ordered Cesar and little salad) She became irritated at the point being she’s a server as well. At the moment we were going to ask for the check and the salads and mussels that we order had arrived. I personally didn’t care for the mussels we over cooked and very chewy. Over all waiting 45 for 2 salads and mussels was not in our date night plans.

   Delicious food, excellent service, and moderate prices. A win win all the way around. Beautiful view of St James River with great outside seating.

   The experience was delightful from beginning to end. Hostesses were gracious, and our server attentive and congenial. The food was delicious! The setting out of doors was phenomenal. The only category that I gave fewer stars for was "value." The bill was a bit steep for the portions offered.

   Our team chose The Boat House for a business lunch. Surroundings were excellent. Wish the table would have had more room for our party of five. The service and food were amazing. We will be back for more lunches!

    My wife took me out for my BD dinner and we both had excellent meals. Good food, good service, good view, good time. We shall return!
