The Black Penny Covent Garden is a unique cosy café, with bare brick walls, only a stones throw away from Covent Garden. Gourmet brunch is at the heart of what The Black Penny is famous for. Signature dishes include 'The Hunter' & 'The Gatherer', which is our take on the full English breakfast. Other signature dishes include 'Wild Mushroom Polenta Hash', 'Salt Beef' and 'Crispy Duck' hashes (try pairing with some of our fine wines and Penny cocktails). If you fancy something sweet try 'The Brioche French Toast'. Speciality coffee created at the hands of the skilled baristas is what keeps regulars coming back for their daily caffeine fix. In the mornings through lunch you can expect The Black Penny to be a popular go to café. The Black Penny values sustainability, therefore we work closely with London's best companies to ensure we meet these values. Great food, the green eggs were delicious. I thought it was a bit odd to have a ban on cocktails before 12 noon on Sundays.

Welcomed and seated by personable and efficient staff- loved the rabbit warren lay out immediately- food and drinks arrived swiftly and were delicious. Try the ginger shot! We had the Gatherer, Bubble & Squeak with bacon, a dirty chai and a black coffee - can recommend all. Thanks to all for a great brunch to start the day.

The food was fantastic & our waitress was an absolute gem. Sadly the gentlemen I met at the door was quite passive aggressive & went out of his way to be "unhelpful" when inquiring about my booking. Thank goodness your maître d' saved the day & led us to our seats. Might come back with family & friends as it's in the vicinity of my home but never again with potential clients. All the best!

Service was friendly yet polite and professional. The food was wonderful. We both had the green eggs on sourdough. Scrumptious.
