The Black Grape - a new small plate restaurant located on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Expect small plates, wine & good times in a stunning setting. This custom designed wine bar & restaurant is the ideal setting for intimate date night dining, drinks with friends or a quick snack as you people watch in the heart of the city. Our menu is a gastronomic tour de force with inspiration from around the globe. One thing unites all our dishes however - bold, punchy flavours and plates that are perfect for sharing. In addition to a 40 seater restaurant the Black Grape also has a cozy wine & cocktail bar - expect a carefully curated selection of drinks soundtracked with the best funk & soul.

                                            The service was very poor. Server took our drinks order then proceeded to set up an empty table, I had to chase our drinks order. Not attentive at all with the server actually saying as we were leaving ‘sorry the service wasn’t attentive tonight’ This spoke volumes as I hadn’t complained or commented on the service. We wouldn’t rush back or recommend.

                                            Very accommodating staff, changed booking time to suit us, the flavours were amazing, perfect portion sizes.. we will be back!!

                                            Most enjoyable dining experience. Slightly different kind of menu, allows for a flexible choice of dining style. Very friendly and helpful staff/ owner. Lovely food and good atmosphere.

                                            We visited the Black Grape to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. The food was delicious & the service excellent. We would highly recommend the Black Grape to experience a lovely dining experience where every dish served is expertly explained to you by friendly staff in a relaxed environment. We will definitely return.

                                            They opened despite Storm Éowyn still raging through Edinburgh but they were obviously short on staff (just the 1 waiter, nice, attentive, chatty, he seemed to handle all the tables well and we didn't mind the slow(er) pace). Short menu, that suits us. Original. Different. All very good and flavoursome. Our only "complaint" was the octopus on rotti: it should be called rotti with small pieces of octopus on top. More octopus would have been great. Anyway, we liked the food, the place, the selection of drinks, the service. We hope we'll be back
