The Black Cat is a well-traveled American tavern with a Silver Lake point of view. Located at the heart of Sunset Junction, The Black Cat is a neighborhood bar and restaurant offering everyday but informed food alongside hand-crafted cocktails, eclectic wines, and exciting craft beers. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Free on-site parking is available at the corner of Sunset and Hyperion. We are a 21 and over establishment only. No kittens please.

It was my first time at The Black Cat. A group of eight of us went and had the big banquette in the back. We had the most wonderful waitress with great energy and sweet personality. The food was very good, the shrimp and grits, spice cake and crème brûlée was exceptional. Good cocktails. Handsome restaurant. Good energy but noisy. Will return

Had a reservation and the hostess gave our seat to someone else, she literally said I’m changing your seat so you have to wait 5 minutes, then proceeded to give us a worse seat. Was celebrating a birthday and we were all seated at these small circular tables, half of us on tiny stools. I’ve been coming here for years and never had such horrible service, we asked Multiple times to move and she said she was giving it to a larger party, but the larger party was only one person larger and we arrived first.

I love this place, it will definitely become a place I regularly come back to with my move to the area.

Every time I go to The Black Cat, my expectations continue to be exceeded. The food is delicious, the service is quick yet never feels rushed. The servers are always so friendly! However, the ambiance takes top spot for best feature. The dark paneling and leather-clad dining area truly feels like you’ve entered a swanky, 20s East Coast speakeasy. Could not recommend this place anymore!

I liked the outside terrace! But I don’t wanna go back…foods weren’t good at all. We ordered chopped salad (taste bad), French fries (it was cold and asked to get us fresh one but still warm), chicken wings ( it was warm and I didn’t like the taste). Maybe frozen French fries and chicken wings. It’s ok but should be hot. I thought it’s better to make them at home with air fryer. Maybe they’re better dishes.

Why am I being asked to tip 20% when I have to order my own meal off of my phone? The food isn’t very good and the service is only someone bringing your your food from the kitchen and plopping it on the table.
