The theatre of food at Teatro is synonymous with a Italian marketplace. From delicious selection of Antipasti to Traditional Italian wood-fired pizza, and amazing Pasta dishes Teatro caters for all guests. Whether a quick dinner before a show at the arts centre, a wine or cocktail with the river view or a lunch before heading to the art gallery or the gardens of our beautiful city.
A fresh seasonal produce driven menu inspires our ever-changing Italian cuisine with plenty of vegetarian and Gluten Free options. Food was of reasonable quality but greatly overpriced. The restaurant was particularly well located for attendance at a show at Gamer Hall.

Nothing special for what we paid, small serves of pasta and very noisy. On the up side Staff were friendly and nice location if you get to sit in the right table otherwise you don’t see the river view.

Lovely venue, great staff and service, good quality food. Only disappointing aspect was no pizzas available on the dinner menu. This was not stated on their website.

The service was great but the food was a let down. We were sat at the corner of the bar next to a mess of personal staff belongings and the toilets.

This is a great pre-theatre or concert place with speedy service and a lively location. The food was okay - would not write home about either the lasagne or the seafood linguine, and being almost $50 for the latter, value for money could be a bit better. That being said though we had a pleasant experience and the service was friendly.

The music was initially too loud but then the music system broke so it was way better. We had an outstanding waitress and she was fabulous. Enjoyed the food and drinks very much

Great location and a great place for a meal. The food is presented nicely and very tasty, not stunning but I don't think this is what the restaurant is positioning itself towards. Would dine again if in the area and after Italian but wouldn't necessarily single this one out if I was looking for an Italian meal

Very noisy environment. Tables for 2 were too close together. Service was ok. Table was partially set when we were taken to be seated. No S&P or cutlery although other vacant set tables were fully set. This wasn't corrected until our entree arrived. While being seated the waitress asked if we wanted some water but it did not arrive. I requested again 15mins later when I could get the attention of another waiter. Only one menu was provided so I requested another. Staff not attentive enough, eg. filling up water glasses as they didn't leave a bottle on the table. I realise it's a busy time on a Saturday night (7.30pm) but needed more staff on deck to provide better service. Took 15+mins to clear our plates after both entree & main meals. Food was good, but at this price point, our expectation was for more flavoursome meals and very good service. Lastly, be prepared when presented with the EFTPOS terminal and the suggested tipping of minimum 5% (on top of 1% CC fee) with the waiter standing over you.. it just added to the less than positive experience.
