My second time at this location things were fine except that I paid $29 for dry chewy steak tips and all the fries at the table were cold and also dry like they've been sitting around for a while before coming to our table.

We were a party of 4. Ordered 2 appetizers: bang bang broccoli and the Tater tot. Both okay but way overpriced. 2 diners ordered the quinoa bowls with salmon. Those were very good. The salmon was cooked perfectly and there was an abundance of cheese, veggies and quinoa. One diner ordered the General GAO bowl and was disappointed. Said the chicken tasted like McDonald’s chicken nuggets with sauce. The other diner had a chicken sandwich which he said was ok not great. The bun is very big and with a thick piece of chicken, it couldn’t easily be eaten. He ended up not eating the bun. Mac n cheese side was very good, as usual. Our server was decent but he did disappear for awhile and we waited a lengthy time for him. He only did that once though and was friendly and efficient otherwise. So overall, some things were excellent while others were just ok. The app prices were prohibitive considering broccoli is not really a high priced item so 12-15$ for an app is too high. It may be awhile before I’m back.

I am a regular at Tavern in the Square Burlington. Love this place and especially love the bartenders. Billy, Alex, Kelli, Bryan. I bring all my friends here! The food is great and I especially love the atmosphere. March Madness is coming, and this is the place to be!

Pain to make a reservation. First try online unsuccessful. Called and hostess hung up on me. Third try online worked. Wasn't even busy after hostess said no openings. Saturday afternoon, quiet. Waitress inattentive, didn't have answers to food questions. Barely checked on us. Asked for ketchup she handed it to my friend. I guess it was too hard to step another foot toward me. I was farther in the booth on the other side. Waited ages to see her to get ketchup. Took a while for her to greet us, take order and bring check. Fish tacos arrived barely warm. Probably won't be back.

Tavern in the Square is usually a solid choice, menu can fit many diets and tastes. The only reason I cannot give this a better rating is because service was seriously lacking. Cream for coffee was delivered in a little plastic condiment cup. No spoon was given to mix the coffee. No flatware was given when we sat down and we had to ask for it when food arrived. I think this establishment is better than this and am leaving this feedback hoping they can rectify these issues.
