A contemporary take on the classic oyster bar, located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, near BAM, Barclay's, the Paramount, and Atlantic Terminal.

Strange Delight finds its influence in New Orleans and is also inspired by the rich history of oysters in New York. Our menu consists of regional seafood prepared in a variety of styles: Charbroiled Oysters and Shrimp Remoulade share the stage with classic seafood towers and Oysters Rockefeller. A rotating selection of larger plates features items such as Black Cod Almondine and Blackened Swordfish Belly.

To drink, Strange Delight updates old classics, serving both a Hurricane and Ramos Gin Fizz service for 2, alongside Martinis and Sazeracs. Our wine and beer lists feature our favorite American producers.

We offer 3 distinct types of reservations:
Regular: a table in our back dining room
Bar: seats at our back dining room bar
High-top: a higher table with bar stools in our front room with an open kitchen and oyster counter.

    We couldn't let the big day come and not put together a little party for y'all. We're closing for regular dinner service and throwing a Fat Tuesday party instead! We'll be serving up bowls of gumbo, po-boys, raw bar, hurricanes, and flavored gin-fizzes. Our friend Carla Finley of Apt 2 Bread is baking up a batch of her delicious King Cake, a Mardi Gras staple (and, yes, there will be a surprise in-store for those of you who find the baby/babies). A limited number of tickets are for sale - they include guaranteed access and a hurricane, and we'll be available for walk-ins all night until the party stops. Beads will be thrown but please, please keep it PG.

    Wonderful food, wonderful service & people. The oysters Rockefeller are tender & gorgeous, and the broccolini salad delivered so much more flavor than the menu described . So good. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. When we were trying to figure out a wine, he asked a lot of questions about what wines we liked and said, I’ll make it work for you. And he did.

    The Charboiled oysters are a favorite! They are so so good. The bread was also delicious. The shrimp loaf is a must. The crab dip is so so and the bbq shrimp is pretty good, I’ve had better. The staff was amazing, our waiter was amazing I believe his name was Paul.

    What a delightful outing! I thought every dish impressed but none as much as the crab fried rice. From the chive work to the perfectly picked and sauteed MD crab, this dish hits! Our server, Isabel, was soulful and helpful. The only two notes we've have were that it was odd to receive the delicious broccolini way before everything else (twice actually as we loved it enough to order a second plate) and the Ramos Gin Fizz was just good, not great (Try one at Tooker Alley if you can).

    On the early side on a Thursday at the bar in the back it was pleasantly quiet. It was comfortable sitting at the bar. The bartender was excellent, the food delicious. It's pricey, but I think worth it for a special dinner. The grilled oysters were my favorite. The cocktails are expensive but high quality.

    The cocktails were excellent. The food was just fine — not bad, but nothing outstanding that warrants a revisit. So, maybe best to sit at the bar for drinks and some oysters or a dish or two rather than dinner.

    This is some of the best food I've had in a while. And the setting is really beautiful. Sleek, modern, clean, elegant. Service was great -- attentive but not intrusive. A+ for service. But the food, the food. So good.
