STERLING is a luxurious bar located underneath the historic Stock Exchange
Hotel. You can expect live music, vintage spirits, rare wine and elegant cocktails all
served alongside bar snacks.

Please note that we only able to accept a certain amount of reservations each day as we leave a lot of tables for walk-ins, so please do not be put off visiting us if you are unable to reserve.

We have a 15 minute grace period for each booking.

We are a seated venue only and all reservations are guaranteed 2 hours at the table.

We are an over 18's only venue and do not accept cash.

This wasn’t my first visit to Sterling. I normally enjoy the vibe here but the ‘entertainment’ for the evening that I visited wasn’t to my taste. The choice of songs and his voice was mismatched to the vibe of this place. It would have been better suited to a karaoke bar. On the plus side, the service and quality of drinks is always excellent here.

A lovely room, great staff, nice drinks with water on the table. Just way to loud. Music was at dancefloor/nightclub level but atmosphere should have suggested relaxed chatting bar.

Been before, but won’t bother again. No longer serve food. Just drinks and nibbles. Used to serve good small plates. Service very show. Not a welcoming experience.

Sterling was one of my favourite bars in the city. Now though it has become little more than a glorified slug and lettuce. Filled with rowdy alcoholics getting up from their tables to dance with the accompaniment of perhaps the tackiest singer/pianist in town. Sterling would do well to stick to their brand and leave the party atmosphere to the night clubs. If you’re a 40 year old Zara wearing birthday girl who can’t act your age then this might be the place for you. For the rest of us though I might be inclined to recommend coming mid week or avoiding entirely until they learn to manage the atmosphere; there are many great cocktail bars in Manchester and this is no longer one of them.

Great atmosphere and ambience. Drinks were excellent, didn’t try the food so can’t comment on that. Fully recommend for a nice cocktail!
