Southern Kitchen, which is known as "The Mouth of the South" to the locals, serves up comfort food favorites. From collard greens to fried fish and chicken, the eatery provides a comfortable, relaxed spot for enjoying classic Southern food, beer, and wine for lunch, and dinner. Since opening in 2014, the restaurant has focused on providing good food paired with a classy experience and great customer service. Southern Kitchen features a variety of options for starting the meal, including fried oysters, fried okra, southern rolls, and salad. Enjoy sandwiches like the salmon cake and chicken club, or dive into some apple pecan salad, fried fish, big momma's chicken, and chicken livers and onions. We had a reservation for 8 people. Unfortunately one more person showed up and they refused to seat her. There were plenty of empty tables but they said no. We waited over 30 minutes for our drinks. The food was good but way over priced. This is my second time there first and last. I will never go back because of the way I was treated. There was no reason not to seat that extra person ad there were plenty of empty tables.

Always have the best experience and the waitress was so attentive, beautiful smile, energy and amazing customer service that is so necessary these days. My highlight as always is seeing the beautiful Ms. Shane and taking a picture with her. I will be back next week lol.

After finding out of this restaurants existence, the day before my wife and I decided to have a meal and to our surprise. It was a wonderful restaurant. The black and white ambiance seemed to work perfectly. The serving staff was more than accommodating. The food was as advertised and was just plain delicious. We do plan on attending in the near future to continue to sample the southern style of cuisine. Did I mention how good the food taste? how pleasing to the eye It was. And at the proper serving temperature.

Highly disappointed in this place. Highly over priced! 28 dollars for two small pieces of chicken, stringy yams, salty black eye peas. You will not get a piece of cornbread with your southern meal. Five dollars for a basket of dry gummy cornbread. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!.

Had 7:30 reservations, we were greeted and seated on time, food came out hot fast and delicious. Drinks did take a little longer but were worth the wait! Loved everything and we will be back!

My wife and I just recently ate here twice in two weeks just to try something different the next go around because it’s that good. We have a planned bi-weekly lunch date every other Friday due to our schedule and we try to find places we’ve never been or haven’t been in awhile to eat at but never do we go to the same place back to back dates. We use to eat at Southern Kitchen when it was in the Jackson Ward area of Richmond for birthdays and other gatherings but now that it’s in Stoney Point it seems like everything is so much better (location, food, service, ambiance…). Not to mention it’s now closer to us as we live in Chesterfield. Compliments to the chef and entire staff.
