The Silver Heights Restaurant opened its doors at 2169 Portage Avenue in June, 1957. Former cabbie Anthony Siwicki Sr. had no idea it would still be going strong today! His operating philosophy was simple: “Provide your guests with quick and friendly service, and to serve fresh, delicious quality food at a reasonable price”…and to keep it that way. The restaurant is now in its third generation going forward.

Silver Heights Restaurant was slowly transformed from a coffee shop into a lounge and dining room and bar. The adjoining hardware store on the East side became the dining room. In 1964 Tony bought out his three partners and his three sons Jim, Dave and Allan have grown the business.

Silver Heights is consistently great. Their menu is varied enough to suit almost anyone and the portions are generous. The decor is a bit dated but the delicious food and great service more than makes up for it.

Good food in a comfortable setting. Owners and staff make you feel welcome. Not a large menu but what ever you choose for dinner will be great.

Our server was excellent! She was very attentive as well as the other staff running around to ensure tables were okay when our server was unable too. My husband liked his ribs and enjoyed the BBQ sauce. My steak my overcooked and had hardly any flavour to it & when you’re paying $40 you’d expect it to be a bit better. It was the first time we had eaten there, our appetizer was amazing! We loved that our salads came out before our meals but when our meals came they were warm - like they had been sitting under heat lamps for a little bit. I think due to it being Valentines Day it was quite noisey but there was also a large table behind us that was quite loud the entire night, having some inappropriate conversations which made the night a little less romantic for us. I think we would tru it again on a night thats not so busy just to see how their food really is.

This place is solo in the category of outstanding food and value! This was THE most memorable birthday in my 52 years! I had the chicken noodle soup starter…followed by the Millionaires steak . ..New York steak..medium, with rice pilaf …veggies..peppers..broccoli carrots. A few glasses of great iced tea. For dessert…chocolate sensation cake that was like no other and also some apple crumble with a scoop of ice cream. The entire meal tasted fresh and made on the spot… not a bit under cooked or overcooked. Juicy..flavourful…a great feeling of content. My wife had the chicken Santorini..with the same veggies with fries, with Caesar salad to start…..we shared the desserts. Service was fantastic…..like no other! First time there and planning next time return!
