Selden Standard’s fare features flavors born in local farms, captured at the peak of the season, prepared in their wood-fired oven, and served small plates-style in shareable portions. Complementing the menu are wines from small producers, distinctive brews, and cocktails to suit the seasons. Selden is rustic and casual, but with an ever-present eye for quality, creativity, and fun. Chef Andy Hollyday is a 2023 James Beard Foundation finalist and four-time semi-finalist. Selden Standard was also twice named a James Beard semi-finalist for Outstanding Restaurant (2024, 2025), and has been named Restaurant of the Year by both the Detroit Free Press (2015) and Hour Detroit (2016).

Join us for a 12-wine, 6-course Michigan wine pairing dinner featuring both Sean O’Keefe, winemaker at Mari Vineyards, and Andrew Backlin, winemaker at Modales. Each are leaders in bringing organics and low intervention approaches to Michigan winemaking, and the two have collaborated on a series of six thematic flights comparing and contrasting northern and southwestern parts of the state. Chef Andy will present an original six-course tasting menu to accompany the wines which will include bottles pulled from the wineries' libraries of favorite past vintages.

Our time at Selden Standard was wonderful. The service was attentive but not overbearing. We ordered the squash, roasted cauliflower, beet salad and pavlova. Everything was delicious! Was only in town for an evening, but would go back if I had the chance.

I went with a friend that I haven't seen in a while. We both love trying new places so we picked the Seldon Standard. The food and the service was beyond amazing! Our hostess and server were friendly and made very good food recommendations. We tried six different dishes, and loved every single one of them! We were so full but kept eating anyway. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the flavors were extraordinary. Thank you all, we had an amazing experience from the time we walked in, to the time we left.

Went for an anniversary dinner and booked the chefs counter for two. Smoked potatoes and roasted mushrooms for an appetizer and both were absolutely phenomenal. Dinner was grilled octopus and duck leg confit, can't tell you the last time I truly smiled taking a first bite of a dish but it was made wonderfully. Food and service couldn't have been better.

The food was amazing!! Our server made amazing recommendations for wine, food, and dessert and we were blown away by it all! We have never had a dish there we did not love.

Perfect atmosphere for a date night with the significant other. We got 2 appetizers and 2 entrees and they were both really good. The cocktails were delicious as well. Service was exceptional. We will definitely come back.

Fabulous start to finish. The food options are unique and delicious. Our service was top notch. This is a must go to spot in Detroit.

Everything was wonderful, from the food to timing of the course. We were sat at a large table with people we didn’t know which we enjoyed but others may not. We don’t have a single complaint.
