Sandrini's Public House opened in 2005 and has since been a privately owned and operated bar and restaurant in the heart of downtown Bakersfield. Our mission is that everyone who walks through our door will feel they have found a space where they belong. From our amazing team to our fresh made food prepared in house, our thoughtfully crafted cocktails and extensive whiskey selection to our entertaining nightlife we offer a place where our guests can gather for an enjoyable evening.

Dinner at 7:30 on a Saturday night, several open tables, service was outstanding, became a little livelier with a younger crowd about 9:30 or so. We had the garlic curds to start and they were very good, lots of garlic. I ordered the Flat Iron Frites upon recommendation from our server and the steak was cooked perfectly (ordered medium rare), it was so tender and the cognac sauce was a great complement to the steak and the frites. My only complaint is the sauce bordered on being a little too salty...but that also didn't stop me from finishing the plate. The rest of our party ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Parm, and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and everyone else said their food was great also. Negative - I booked the reservation and marked that it was a birthday celebration (3 of us had just celebrated birthdays) and our server didn't mention it or give any recognition of it so that was a little disappointing.

We had a sampling of dishes and all were very good! The menu isn’t huge but there is a good variety, so something for everyone. Nice selection of draft beer and whiskey options as well. Our waitress was wonderful! Best service I’ve experienced in a long time anywhere. Definitely recommend and will go again.

Celebrating Valentine's Day at Sandrini's was great! It was not too hectic like most restaurants would be on this day. The food was delicious, drinks were good and the staff was friendly and attentive. Thinking of making this our yearly Valentine date night.

Please note that this really is more of a bar than a restaurant, despite descriptions elsewhere. My family of six (ages 11-78) found ourselves seated in an extremely loud bar area with a couple of very drunk women making hella noise. No one else in the bar cared about their clamor, really, but it sure annoyed my dad. Potential to make dads grumpy: High When our food arrived, my dad's did not. We were told there was a "slight delay" in the kitchen. He eventually waited over 1/2 hour for his food, watching us finish ours before his ever came. When it did arrive, it was so poorly prepared (un-fresh/frozen fish) he found it inedible. He sent it back and we were not charged for it. Potential to make dads annoyed: High Everyone else's food was pretty good. Salads, chicken parm, and flatbreads were adequate. Both desserts (apple tart and brownie) took a while to arrive from the kitchen, but they were tasty and fresh and perfectly prepared. I would not return to this bar for dinner with people I want to talk to. It was too loud, cramped and bustling with drunk bar energy to enjoy ourselves.

Noelle, we're sorry you didn't enjoy your time with us. Please understand you brought your family to the wrong type of business for the dinner you were hoping to enjoy. By definition a public house or pub is a business where people gather primarily to imbibe alcohol and enjoy each other's company. While food is served, drinking and socializing are the main reason guest's frequent a pub. Our name clearly states that is the business we're in. We’re sorry you chose to come down and have a poor experience. We recommend leaving any restaurant that immediately doesn't fit your expectations and would not recommend us to a group such as yourselves. We cater to guests going out to enjoy themselves in an energetic atmosphere, clearly not your group. Grumpy dads have never been our target market.
