Originally built in 1887 as the third post office in Queensland, the iconic Sandgate Post Office has a new lease on life. Stylish and quintessentially Sandgate, it is a destination venue with an elegant gastro-pub restaurant, a vibrant main bar, a whiskey vault and sun-soaked alfresco dining.

Standing proud in Sandgate for 135 years, the heritage of the building has been embraced with a renovation that honours the role the Post Office has had in the community for over a century. Located on the corner of Bowser Parade and Rainbow Street across the road from the Sandgate rail station, it is once again set to be a landmark for the Sandgate community.

Disappointed that I ordered a meal which came out and just when I finished the meal they brought out the rice that was supposed to be with the meal

Hi Bruce, Thank you for the feedback. It is unusual for the chefs to plate the rice separately which is probably how it was missed by our restaurant staff. Will discuss with the Head Chef today to reduce the risk of this happening again. Again, thank you.

Great food, great service and nice layout. This was our first time eating here (dinner) but won't be our last.

Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Provided a lovely small mudcake for birthday with candles and delightfully presented. Meals were flavoursome and excellent - especially the scallops entree! Everyone delighted with their main courses. All in all a really great birthday lunch for our friend and glad we chose you guys to host us. Thank you to all the staff that made it possible. We’ll be back!

From the moment we walked in, food and service was brilliant. Busy night for them it seemed, the wait staff were lovely and food variety and quality was top notch. Would personally like a wider red wine selection but in no way detracted from our night, we had a ripping SA Cab Sauv. Thanks team post office! We'll see you soon.

Excellent service from staff and the ambience was lovely but the food was very underwhelming. The fish was dry and badly overcooked and the Asian beef salad serving was tiny and essentially a garden salad with a few small strips of beef. Great service but the poor standard of the food means we won’t dine again anytime soon.

We ordered pork very nice crispy skin spanner well wasn't crispy at all. Scallops as entree was over cooked and dry. Overall we did enjoy our dinner staff were excellent.

Thank you for the feedback David. The snapper skin usually crisps up well so will ask the Head Chef why that may have happened. We are currently serving Ling in a mango puree with broccolini. Will also discuss the scallops to enable improvement. Hope to see you again soon.
