   Fave new place for happy hour and dinner! Must haves are the smashburger, wagyu meatballs, crab cakes, chicken pot pie, and the roasted beets (my personal favorite!). Rustic Root is our Friday hang out!

   From start to finish, our dining experience was amazing!! Our waitress, Hannah, was the best!! Lobster Papardelle and the pork chop were our favs… highly recommend.

   Ate there for dinner for the first time last night and will never go back. Reservation at 7:15 pm, not seated until almost 8 pm, appetizers didn’t arrive until almost 8:45 pm. Waiter admitted that the were understaffed both in front and back of house. Mediocre quality of food for the price and the lackluster wine list consists of generic producers, nothing special. Beautiful space but disappointing, will not return.

   Delicious brunch. Everyone loved their food!! Got the breakfast sliders and they were tasty. I recommend getting the champagne platter with fruits and juices. Super fun.

   My 3rd visit. First time for birthday brunch with a friend. The other visits were for dinner. While there were 2 larger groups in the same area and our food seemed to take a very long time (I even inquired with the waiter).....a two top that was seated at least 15 minutes after us were served their food prior to us. While it is definitely the trendy see and be seen vibe, we felt a bit snubbed (2 ladies lunching, NOT wearing crop tops or showing tats). Our waiter just said "sorry about that". Having been in the restaurant business as a server (bar and dining room), hostess, as well as tending bar....a more sincere manner would have been appreciated.... While I want to support and patronize a new local restraunt, my experience has gone down with every visit. First visit at dinner (food and service on a weeknight) with a male companion was excellant, second visit with two female companions (weekend dinner - 2 out of town guests) was THE WORST with service and had it not been for Kyle taking our table over and the food being cooked well.....I would leave a much harsher review. (we were told our original female server was sent home as she had been working since the day shift). Not sure if I will be back any time spoon unfortunately.

   The menu and the food were really good. Didn’t appreciate being seated 20 minutes after when our reservation was. And the dj was so outrageously loud, we literally had to shout across the table to talk to each other and we were seated outside. I would return but only on a weekday evening or for lunch. Solana Beach needs more restaurants (we are locals) so we’re happy Rustic Root has opened but am looking forward to the opening of the other ones that are coming onboard.

    Didn’t have the entree I ordered. Chose another and didn’t really like it. Sat us at an outdoor table without giving us the choice on the reservation app. My chicken was dry and chewy. Caesar salad had too much dressing. I may go back, it’s new and maybe they will have what I wanted next time.
