   Good value for money and food was served quickly and portion sizes were ample and glad that we opted not to have chosen a starter as would not have been able yo finish our mains. Staff were friendly and there was a nice atmosphere.

   Really lovely dinner here for 5 of us. Super friendly staff and food was delicious, locally sourced and well presented. Well worth a visit to this beautiful country pub in the lovely village of Winsford on Exmoor.

   I celebrated my birthday at The Royal Oak, Winsford and it was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we walked in, the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere made us feel right at home. The hosting was spot on, attentive but never overbearing and we felt so well looked after. The food itself was just incredible. Every dish was bursting with flavour, beautifully presented and an absolute pleasure to eat. It was a truly special evening and I can't thank The Royal Oak enough for making my birthday so memorable. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience.

   We ordered the hake and steak and ale pie, both were delicious and well cooked. Beautiful scenery and lovely traditional old english pub. Loved the look of the snug room too. We will definitely be back in the future.

   On a dreary Monday evening in November, we weren't expecting much when we booked a table at the Royal Oak. We were completely mistaken! The food, ambiance and service was all excellent and much better than expected. We will certainly be back, and tell all our friends too!

   A return visit after a few years and pleased to say it was as good as I remembered. A classic English country pub in the heart of Exmoor, with glorious home cooked food of an impressive standard. The Exmoor Ales were perfect too. Our dog was made very welcome and the whole experience was delightful. Prices on the higher side but worth it.

   An absolutely wonderful experience at the Royal Oak in Winsford. This is a lovely pub, with everything you’d expect from a visit to Exmoor. Right from the friendly welcome, everything was perfect. Roaring fire, great service with a smile at the bar and at the table. A good range of dishes on the menu, we didn’t have starters but they sounded great. One of us had the lamb and one the pan-fried hake. Both were delicious and good sized portions. Good GF choice too. Desserts were amazing- sticky toffee pudding and creme brûlée. We can’t wait to return and have decided to stay in Winsford (they do rooms too!) so that this is on our doorstep next time.

    Superb food and friendly service a real gem. A delicious menu with so many options I would like to try. Can’t wait to come back again
