Due to popular demand, we are extending the Savoy Grill Christmas Day Dining experience to Restaurant 1890. For one day only, guests will dine from an exclusive menu at £320 per person, designed by Arnaud Stevens Executive Head Chef of the Savoy Grill. I was quite apprehensive at dining alone at such a prestigious high end establishment, but i was happily surprised as soon as i walked in. The staff were incredibly professional and attentive, but also so helpful and friendly. I didn't feel alone at all. Always a smile and a listening ear to hear how wonderful the food and drink were. The food was incredible. With little upfront knowledge of what the menu would contain, i was relieved it was full of dishes i would have ordered myself, with seasonal ingredients presented and cooked in excitingly new way - for me anyway. It was all so well presented and described. Thank you all for making me feel so comfortable, welcome and incredibly fed!

Does going back to the same place make you a creature of habit or a loyal customer? It seems we’ve ended up here on our last two visits to London and wondered whether we would forego it this time, as we had already experienced the fine dining and service and we have (in the past) been disappointed by other places that were favorites. We could not pass up the opportunity, though, and we were glad we did. The tasting menu was different each time we have visited and excelled. We felt that this visit exceeded the others (if that’s possible). It is good to see that the entire team we have met our last two visits were the same (with a couple of exceptions, who have moved on to other opportunities which I’m sure Restaurant 1890 has prepared them for). It has provided consistency and excellence. We were pleased to learn that Restaurant 1890 had earned a Michelin star this year. Not surprised and well deserved. Again, a reflection of the fine team in this establishment. Will we continue the habit (or tradition) and visit again next time we are in London? Will be difficult not to!
