We went for my Birthday dinner and as always the atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable we just felt that this time the food wasn't up to it's usual standards and we don't know why but compared to all the many times we have come in the past this time just wasn't as good. We love coming to the Ranch and will be back we know there can always be a off night you just hope it's not when you go there.

Chicken was not warm enough and was not done. The risotto was cool not hot. This is the second time this has happened at the Norman location.

The food quality has declined significantly since I last ate here in 2023. Steak preparation was slightly cooler than requested. Carrots were undercooked and underseasoned. Au Poivre flavor was off. Shishito peppers were overly charred. Pork shank was average. Creamed corn was excellent. Our server was attentive but a bit grating. The food was significantly overpriced relative to the quality.

It is always a great experience at the Ranch in Norman. We were SO SO excited to see that our favorite waiter Brendan was back! We had no idea. He makes coming in so much fun. Such a great waiter and so kind. Glad to see his familiar face back around!!! We will definitely be coming in more to see him.

The restaurant is gorgeous as ever, but it was unfortunately downhill from there. The cocktails were mid-level for this quality of restaurant (ex: a big rock, not small ice cubes, should be standard for good bourbon or an old fashioned and I know they have them, so it’s just being lazy or cheap to not use them). The French onion soup was terribly sub-par; not only were these onions not caramelized they were large chunks and barely tender, and I don’t see how this could be the standard at any upscale restaurant. The scallops were okay but the sear was virtually nonexistent (better than overcooked and chewy I suppose); however, the lump-crab orzo they were served on saved an otherwise lackluster entree. Our server was very friendly and adequate but surprisingly absent. I currently have another reservation for my wife’s birthday this coming Sunday but have decided to cancel after this experience.
