Welcome to Penny Squares, your new go-to Italian haven set against the vibrant backdrop of East London. Located just steps from Aldgate station and a short walk from Liverpool Street, we bring a relaxed yet refined dining experience to the area, perfect for everything from casual catch-ups to special occasions.

We’re passionate about serving authentic Italian flavours with classic recipes and fresh, organic ingredients. Our signature square pizzas are a playful nod to East London’s rich history, inspired by the Huguenot weavers who once sold intricate embroidery squares here. From a traditional Margherita to bold creations like Zucca & Gorgonzola and Salsiccia & Friarielli - but our menu doesn’t stop at pizza—indulge in freshly made pasta dishes like Pappardelle with confit duck ragù or try one of our delicious vegetarian and meat-sharing boards.

                                          The arancini balls were literally frozen solid in the centre. I returned them as they were inedible. The replacements weren’t frozen but certainly a long way off *hot*. Couldn’t be bothered returning them so ate the average pizza and left. I had expected they may have comped the arancini at least but they didn’t seem to care and it felt like this was not the first time they’d served frozen balls of rice to customers…

                                          We really loved our evening at Penny Squares! The staff were so attentive and friendly and the food was deliciously authentic. We had the duck pappardelle which blew us away with its exquisite and delicate flavours. The ambience made us feel relaxed and the decor was really pretty. We definitely will be back soon!

                                          Hidden inside Canopy by Hilton Hotel, has a very inviting and nice atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and with attention to detail - funny surprise to the kid. Pasta and pizzas were amazingly fresh. It was a fabulous experience provided by one of the cheapest meals we had while in vacations in London.

                                          We unfortunately had a very disappointing experience this evening at penny squares. The group size was 8 people. It took 20 minutes for our order (including drinks) to be taken and then another 26 minutes for the drinks to come. We ordered starters, mains, and then sides for the mains too. The food first of all came out all at the same time. We explained to the waiters and they took it all back. Whilst eating our starters we watched our main and sides just sit on the side. Our starter plates were cleared before all of the party had finished eating. And then our mains were brought over. Not a shock, but the food was all cold. By which point the party began to feel embarrassed so just got on and ate the food. 2 guests food went back and came back out again. Whilst we were given money off our our bill, we were still very dissapointed in the service. A young lad served us, who was lovely but we believe the management needs serious improvement. Won’t be dining again. On a positive the interior is lovely!

                                          Konrad and the team made me and my friends experience of the restaurant lovely! They also provided us with complimentary drinks to make the celebration even more special. Their efforts were truly appreciated.
