   Wir waren im vergangenen Jahr mindestens 5 x in der Osteria Capri: mit Familie und Gästen. Das Essen war gut, und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war ok. Heute war das Essen nicht besonders, ein sehr kleines Glas Rosé 14 Dollar zum Lunch. Da bietet jedes Restaurant in der 5th besseres Essen zum besseren Preis. Schade, die Lage am Wasser ist super. Aber wir werden das Restaurant zu diesen Konditionen nicht mehr aufsuchen.

   We made a reservation for our anniversary a month or more in advance. When we arrived, hostess said there were no tables for us since we were only two people! I saw our reservation for two on her list! She tried to sit us out in the sun at an uncovered round metal table on the side dock. She said she couldn’t separate the nice tables that were pushed together since they were saved for larger reservations!! We had a reservation!!! It almost ruined our anniversary. Another couple celebrating a birthday were having the same problems with her. They reserved a table for two inside, but when they arrived, were told inside wasn’t available for them. She wanted to seat them outside at the small metal table on the side dock! I heard them and suggested we all sit together. She was more than happy to seat us altogether instead of separating two tables that were pushed together. Then they charged us a 20% surcharge that we didn’t know about ahead of time. Never again. We used to like this restaurant. Beware if you’re making a reservation at this place. Very unethical treatment.

   Great Food, But Watch the Extras… The food was genuinely very good—no complaints there at all. Everything was well-prepared and tasty. Please go try it....... as long as you don't mind being charged for random extras. What we didn't like: Unexpected Upcharges: We ordered fish and later found out that the sauce (yes, the sauce) added $10 to $15 per dish. That brought the Seabass to $60 and the Branzino to $46—for a filet, not even a whole fish 1/. It’s a bit much, and we didnt notice extra cost beforehand.... but the waitress obviosly knew and didnt explain it either. Honestly, how do you order the fish—just salt and pepper for $45? My sauce was tomato with Olives and Capers. $10 More? My husbands was $15 for Sauce. Then,,,,Automatic Gratuity: A 20% gratuity was automatically added for a party of 4 Adults plus three small kids (ages 3, 5, and 11). They shared one pizza. That felt excessive. We always tip well, (Owned a restaurant for 15 Years) but having it forced like that—with kids?? Restaurant was not busy went early 5:30pm. What We Ordered: 9" Octopus Appetizer (mid-$30s price) Tomato & Mozzarella App 4 Dinner Entrées 1 Pizza with Sausage (12”) 3 Bottles of Water 1 Ice Cream 1 Tiramisu 3 Coffees Total: ~$400 --- NO ALCOHOL!! (This included the auto-gratuity and a $9 credit card surcharge.) Kids total was no more than $45 with the pizza, 1 ice cream and water..... Again...... no complaints on the meal itself..... But the prices and upcharges are a little above normal. Dessert Ice Cream is $12 No kids meals either.

   Wonderful night on the Isle of Capri. This was our first time visiting Osteria Capri and we are kicking ourselves for not coming for many many years. It is in a beautiful setting and we sat outside and watched an amazing sunset. The food was equal to meals we have had in Italy. We will absolutely be back.

   Great dinner with friends; Sat inside but think we could have set outside. Not very many people there- strange! Good waiter and food was very good! We all enjoyed the evening!

    I've been to all the great restaurants on Marco Island. This one in my opinion is definitely not one of them. The food was ok... small portions and way over-priced compared to the top restaurants in Marco. My halibut was appropriately cooked, but was pretty. My son did love his pizza. Drinks were very good...but an espresso martini for 22 bucks seemed a little excessive; especially for the venue, which was an older building that needs some rehab. The staff stepped in to help each other. They were very friendly and attentive. In the end we had a nice time, but we won't be back unfortunately.
