Great atmosphere that matches the great food. Had the eggplant caponata, focaccia with speck and arugula. My friend and I each had a pasta for dinner - pesto and the mushroom pork rags. Each were delicious!

Pretty space. The front of house / reservation lady was sweet. Our waiter - he was ok. He talked way too fast. It’s very loud. Couple that with a loud space. Impossible to hear him. Food was fine. Great wine list. I’ll come back and try the bar. The general seating is awakened and too chaotic for me. The Chinese plate and the rib eye and ravioli were excellent.

The food, wine, drinks were amazing. The atmosphere was cozy and lively, like a true Italian kitchen. Unfortunately we were seated over 30 min late for our reservation, and beyond that the food took a very long time. We were probably in the restaurant for a total of 3 hours. However the hostess was gracious to offer us a free round of drinks which helped.

We had a wonderful dinner experience at Olio e piu. The appetizers, pastas, entrees, and desserts all exceeded our expectations. What truly stood out was Chef Mostafa’s dedication to the culinary craft. Every dish that arrived at our table was a work of art—both visually stunning and bursting with flavor. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors balanced, and the presentation impeccable. From the first bite to the last, it was evident that each dish was crafted with skill and love. His enthusiasm for food was contagious, making the experience even more memorable. The service was equally outstanding—attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. The staff took the time to ensure that every detail was perfect, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. Lastly, the warm ambiance, with its elegant decor and soft lighting created an inviting atmosphere that set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. Had a wonderful experience! Our server was awesome (taller gentleman with red tie and black hair, I did not catch his name). We were recommended a lovely bottle of wine and went with his cheese recommendations. The entrees were all fabulous and we had trouble finishing everything. This was our first time and we will be back next time we visit DC!!

Not impressed. Lackluster. Service was terrible. Food was subpar, I got the shrimp ravioli. The shrimp were mini shrimp chopped up, and mushy. No texture. Lamb meatballs were good, but 3 for $25 seems steep for value/flavor. The restaurant was crowded and one side of the restaurant is open kitchen, where you could see them scooping food out of warming container onto plates. I would not recommend this restaurant. There are so many amazing restaurants in the city, and this one is a miss.

The food was great! We loved all the dishes we ordered. The carbonara was delicious along with the fried calamari and the burrata. The only complaint was that we waited 20 min to be seated even though we had a reservation and we arrived on time.

The food was very good. I really enjoyed the pesto pasta. The biggest negative is that they wouldn’t seat me until our entire party had arrived. I had made a reservation and I don’t understand why they need to wait for everyone to get there to be seated. The bar was packed so I couldn’t even order a cocktail while I waited. Restaurants need to be better about this and just seat people. What is the point of making a reservation if they are going to make you wait. That defeats the purpose.
