It was a lovely dinner and the staff were very friendly and the service was good. The pork we ordered off the set menu was extremely fatty that most of the meal was left on the plate due to the fact it was mostly fat. However, the little meat that was in the dish was delicious. The rose and strawberry dessert was fantastic!

Staying at the Ibterlude so this was a logical choice being only downstairs but a little concerned over a couple of negative reviews so went into it eyes wide open. Clearly a new hotel and restaurant with a very cosy wine bar immediately adjacent. The menu was new this week and in addition to a la carte they offered a very well priced “let’s us feed you” option. From the home baked sourdough starter with cultured butter, through the heritage tomatoes and burratta, confit duck pappardelle, scotch fillet with asparagus, to the panacotta for dessert the meal was without fault and the service impeccable. I can only assume the previous negative reviews attributable to the newness of the hotel and early on teething troubles, because I cannot rate my experience highly enough. Will hopefully return soon.

We were booked for lunch and a tour of the prison. But as we were seated for lunch we were advised that the restaurant had learnt the night before that the tour had been cancelled. Instead of the restaurant notifying us in the morning they told us as we were seated for lunch. Basically rail tossing us into lunch still. Poor communication. It was a long way for us to travel for lunch at an over rated restaurant

Nice restaurant with great staff. Delicious tomato starter, not the bread and water you would expect in a prison, although we did get sourdough and water!

We enjoyed the food thoroughly and were pleasantly surprised with the taste. We started with oysters and burrata, although it was the smaller burrata I had seen in my life, knowing they are much larger which was a shame for value. However our mains, the risotto and lamb ragout was very nice.
The restaurant is so lovely inside and should uphold a higher standard for dress code, with people coming in sweatpants. The service could also be improved by ensuring when food is served cutlery is supplied, we waited patiently but after 5 minutes we had to request cutlery, only being given a knife also followed up with requesting a fork also. The restaurant was not busy but our plates sat in front of us for 20 minutes after finishing and we had to ask it be cleared up and for the bill. It would have been nice to have dessert but we had to leave, if the plates were cleared earlier perhaps there would have been time.

Will get better as it finds its groove.
It's hard work being a hotel restaurant that attracts locals but I think these guys will nail it. The kitchen is definitely humming and the starters and grill items were the standout. Desserts were a bit weak.
The space is nice and open, with high roofs but the lighting in our area near the kitchen was uncomfortably dim and another table resorted to phone flashlight to look at their meal.
Service was good but wine glasses sat empty for a bit (but were topped up when food arrived). Very good wine list.
Will happily go back and hopefully some of the issues are ironed out as staff get settled.

Food was amazing. Great advice from the staff to help with our selections. With a vegetarian this is very much appreciated. Attention to service was a little lacking at times, but not a huge issue.
