At the Nag’s Head we are passionate about food and the excellent quality produce that is available locally. The majority of our food is freshly prepared and cooked from ‘farm to fork’ by our Head Chef Andy Millard and his enthusiastic kitchen team. Our menu is varied and seasonal, appealing to all tastes and includes Chef Specials, favourite traditional “pub classics” and Sunday roasts. We cater for different palettes and today’s changing tastes including children, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. As our dishes are prepared and cooked in house, we can usually accommodate most dietary needs.We pride ourselves on serving locally produced real ales. Our ales come from the excellent local microbreweries and are of a very high quality. We offer a range of good quality wines and spirits to compliment our menu.

Never had a bad experience here in all fairness, today was no different, the chef absolutely nailed the meats again! And the mash on point!

Disappointed. One of the meals arrived too cold to eat and another was just about ok but not as hot as it should have been. On the borderline . We had finished most of our meals before the other dish re-appeared. The overall meal cost 112 pounds which I did feel deserved a reduction for the experience. I would perhaps have offered a free drink or r a free dessert . I suspect the dishes were left waiting to be served to the table for some time before they were picked up . We’ve had a lot of nice meals at the nags head over many years but this was a disappointment so we didn’t stay for desserts or leave a tip on this occasion which is very very rare for me. I felt other diners had better food and left feeling a bit sad Serving staff were as ever super polite and kind and were doing their best. Full marks to them. But something clearly went wrong on this occasion We hope to be back on a better day and like to support local businesses so here’s hoping

Great food and service with a good guest beer. The inn was packed for a Thursday night with every table taken. Great atmosphere and a real log fire to relax by.

Another flawless dinner at the Nags Head ! Best Salmon bruschetta ever , followed by a perfect beefy lasagne , and a huge Tiramisu , washed down by well kept beer and a special Marsanne viognier . Service as allways from the team was polished , confident , and friendly . Many Thanks again !!

Beautiful dining area full of charm and character with perfect soft lighting which made for a warm, intimate environment. Friendly staff and prompt service. My meal was superb- chicken supreme and tiramisu. Delicious, generous and well priced. My husband had the manhattan steak and apple crumble. The pudding was outstanding and he demolished it. He was a little disappointed with the steak meal however. The steak was on the small side and the chips were not homemade although the peppercorn sauce was delicious . At £29 it was a tad dear and if it weren’t for the second course he would have been looking for a snack later on. We would eat here again but he wouldn’t choose the steak. I know hospitality is up against it and we feel for you so hate to post anything vaguely negative but trying to be honest

Thanks for the feedback Julie. We always try to provide good value food without affecting quality, in difficult times for the hospitality sector as you rightly recognise. The price of beef has risen sharply in recent months, yet we have kept our prices the same for some time now. FYI - we are reviewing the steak option in preparation for our next menu change - diolch
