Hervorragende Steaks, sehr gute Weinkarte, allerdings auch hochpreisig. Immer wieder mal den Preis wert, allerdings hauptsächlich im Bereich Essen, die Weinkarte ist manchmal schon unverschämt teuer. Sehr guter Service, die Steaks wirklich so gebraten wie bestellt, sehr gutes Fleisch, hervorragende Beilagen.

As new residents of Virginia- we decided to stop in at Morton’s. The hostess didn’t have much personality and sat us. We ordered drinks that took about ten minutes (non alcoholic iced tea) and water. I drank these both after my appetizer and both glasses were left empty until after our entree was delivered. My spouse ordered the French onion which was “fine” but unfinished. I ordered lobster bisque and enjoyed it. The bisque came as a “pour over” in a very hot bowl- but it wasn’t very warm. Even at this temperature I ate it. When our entree arrived- it came on very hot plates. The waitress recommended if we needed to move our plates to use a “double folded napkin.” The New York was okay. Nothing to write home or return for. I guess the thing that really confuses me about this restaurant is how impersonal the staff is. The hostess was cold- our waitress was too busy flirting with the expediter by the kitchen, or sometimes a group of five or six employees are just hanging by the kitchen window. While walking out - a member of the bar staff cut in front of us , not even an “excuse me” - he actually seemed annoyed by our presence. And of course , no “good bye” or “thank you” from the hostess. What a welcome to Virginia. /:

Arrived before reservation time had to wait a little but we finally got seated. It was a total of 10 in our party. Server did an excellent job Dillian) and was very knowledgeable of menu and the specials. We were celebrating an anniversary and it was nice to see they acknowledged that by posting it on our individual menus, nice touch. Food was cooked to perfection. I had the Filet and a side of Spinach with Mushrooms. Can’t wait to go back. Thanks Morton’s for making this occasion special.

We had a great NYE dinner here. We each had filets, the sour cream mashed potatoes, jumbo shrimp cocktail and the chopped salad. Everything was delicious! I have a gluten allergy, and a gluten free menu was already waiting for us at the table. Their service was good, it was a busy evening being a holiday. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

While we are fans of Morton’s, this experience was subpar. Service was slow and inattentive and food lukewarm and in some cases overcooked. While the manager on duty attempted to make things right by discounting the check, the experience was disappointing.

How the Grinch stole Christmas. We chose Morton's because they offer (supposedly) a great dining experience. We were from out of town celebrating Christmas in DC. We were contacted days before to confirm our reservation and told he must adhere to the dress code, which included no jeans. Most of the guests that day were in jeans. We were quickly seated in the very back by the bathrooms while there were plenty of open tables elsewhere. Our biggest issue is the speed of the service. Before we had taken two bites of our starter, they brought out our steaks. We told them we were not ready, and they took them back and placed them under a heat lamp, just like a fast-food burger place. We still had not finished our starter, and they came back with the steaks and side, so we gave up and ate our steaks. The steaks did not have any flavor, and the juices were dried on the plate (due to the heat lamp), but our side dish was nice and hot. We could have gone to an Australian-themed steakhouse and received a better-tasting steak. We were rushed through this meal in less than an hour. This was not a fine dining experience that I would expect from Morton's.
