MIDA by Chef Douglass William's is now open on East Boston's waterfront. Our James Beard Nominated restaurant group is situated directly on the edge of the pier with panoramic views of the downtown Boston Skyline. The restaurant is surrounded by the water on three sides with a massive patio that is perfect for date night and large groups at all hours of the day. We have also been to Mida on Columbus Ave in Boston…the food is delish!!!. The ambience at the East Boston’s Mida is very nice, cozy. The view, especially at night looking over the water seeing the beautiful Downtown Boston is superb. The only downside is parking, but then again that is the trademark of Boston.

Food and ambiance outstanding. Service was not very good. Initially we were told the pizza oven was not in working order though table next to us had just received a pizza. When we asked if server was sure, the answer changed and pizza became available. Server asked that we provide our full order all at once to ensure proper flow with kitchen. Good idea but what actually happened is pizza came out right after apps and as a result my youngest son was just about done with his dinner by the time the rest of the table was served and nobody checked with us or gave us a status on our entrees until asked. Same occurred with desserts, we had to proactively ask, took a long time to get them, and then I had to flag down another server to settle up the check. I didn’t even see our server after dessert and it was a very slow Sunday evening. Could have been an excellent experience but for a $300 dinner for a family of 5 the service was not even close to what should be expected.

Nice brunch experience with friends on Sunday. The food was tasty. The children's chicken order appeared overdone. The appetizers were great. We had the burrata, meatballs, salad, and arancini. The meatballs were a bit peppery, but otherwise all was great. Pasta dishes were very good. One pasta dish was a little too al dente. The crispy chicken dish was well done. I would have preferred a bit moister chicken. Pizza was good. Drinks were fabulous. I would return, but perhaps for lunch or dinner instead of brunch.

If you’re looking for a restaurant that offers not just a meal, but an experience, Mida is the place to go. First time to Mida today. Had a wonderful brunch with a breathtaking view of downtown Boston from across the harbor in Eastie. Metered street parking easily found a block away. Highly recommend!
