Mia's Italian Kitchen, located at the riverside end of King Street in Old Town Alexandria, is rooted in family. Our menu is filled with homestyle traditional Italian recipes sourced from owner Dave Nicholas' Sicilian grandmother. An elegant wine list accompanies beer and craft cocktails on the beverage menu. Dine downstairs and watch the signature Sicilian-style rectangular pizzas cook in the 800-degree brick oven, or upstairs to view the energetic open kitchen. Our second trip here after not being in town for a couple of years. Food was just as good as we remembered. Will always try to stop here when we’re in the area.

Food was great. We wanted a little salt added but there was none on the table. The pizza was really good too. We had a great meal and the service was excellent!! The cost was reasonable for 4 it cost $160.

Such a great experience for NYE! Very busy and full restaurant yet our server Chris was still personable and efficient! The food was amazing (minus the veal special it was just okay but it’s not their regular food). In the future will probably just stick to their regular menu as that food is always a 10/10. Drinks were also yummy and quick to come.

The ambience of Mia's was really cozy and polished. We did ask to be reseated as we were originally sat right behind the host stand, which we were transferred by a different host after some shuffling to the back, which was much quieter The tables are very close together which was awkward, but I looked over it. My server was Brendan, and he was knowledgeable about the menu and very kind. It did look like he was juggling a lot of tables on his own, as he was constantly running back to the kitchen to take things to the kitchen. There were obviously no bussers, which is dumb leading to NYE, and there were at last 3 hosts. My one peeve about the food was our starter was the brushcetta, which was tasty but weirdly plated. It's partially cut with the the brushchetta filling sprinkled in the slices, which looks aestheticallly pleasing but was so awkward to cut amongst 3 people. I don't like having to touch others' food. I had the chicken piccata which was great. There's no black pepper on the table, but Brendan was really busy serving to offer black pepper and cheese. I had a cappuccino with my tiramisu, which was well-made, and Brendan offered dessert after our plates were cleared, which was proper. Overall I would try it again there.
