Von der OpenTable-Redaktion: Die LA Times nannte Peter Merriman einst „die Aloha-Version von Alice Waters“, weil der Chefkoch konsequent auf lokale Zutaten setzt. Im Merriman's, das 1988 erstmals auf Big Island eröffnete, bedeutet das moderne Interpretationen hawaiianischer Klassiker wie Mahi Mahi mit Macadamia-Kruste und Taro-Falafel. Bis 2018 hat die Restaurantgruppe auf vier Inseln Fuß gefasst. Der neueste Standort in Honolulu besticht durch wilde grün-weiße Böden und Dschungelprints.

All of Peter Merriman's restaurants share a common mission statement: Do the Right Thing! Every member of the staff is taught to respect the `aina (land) that feeds and the people who produce the food, to be proud in their work, and to take responsibility for making sure every customer has a memorable dining experience.

Absolutely love the mahi and the mushroom ravioli. I thought the portions were a little smaller than usual. Overall, excellent experience, Caroline and Tommy.

This was my first visit to Merriman’s. It was worth the taxi ride! I was given a very nice table outside, right in front of the lovely music. My server, Jackson, was just wonderful and made sure I was comfortable and had all that i needed. The food was delicious, as were the cocktails I ordered. A really nice meal accompanied by great service and lovely music. I will return!

This is a go to place for us. The food is always fresh and delicious, the service is impeccable and the outdooor seating is great! Favorites are the shrimp appetizer, mahi-mahi, mushroom ravioli and steak frites. This is a must try when in Hawaii.

Everything was great. Food was outstanding. The Mai Tai was absolutely delicious and one of the best. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Will be back again. Thanks.

I don’t know if you guys started using a different rum in your Mai tais or something but the last two times I’ve been there I have not liked the aftertaste of them and I’ve been drinking them for years. It’s almost like you switched to a cheaper, spiced rum or something.

It was not our first time there. We really enjoy it. Great food.......love the chicken skillet. Very good. We thought it would be great to bring out of town guests to eat there

We loved the happy hour. What great food and drink options. We also had some of our favorites like the French onion soup and the beet salad. Service was excellent.
