Von der OpenTable-Redaktion: Die LA Times nannte Peter Merriman einst „die Aloha-Version von Alice Waters“, weil der Chefkoch konsequent auf lokale Zutaten setzt. Im Merriman's, das 1988 erstmals auf Big Island eröffnete, bedeutet das moderne Interpretationen hawaiianischer Klassiker wie Mahi Mahi mit Macadamia-Kruste und Taro-Falafel. Bis 2018 hat die Restaurantgruppe auf vier Inseln Fuß gefasst. Der neueste Standort in Honolulu besticht durch wilde grün-weiße Böden und Dschungelprints.

All of Peter Merriman's restaurants share a common mission statement: Do the Right Thing! Every member of the staff is taught to respect the `aina (land) that feeds and the people who produce the food, to be proud in their work, and to take responsibility for making sure every customer has a memorable dining experience.

We’re always greeted like old friends. Very welcoming. Service is great and the food outstanding. Creative, flavorful and timing. Beverage list is varied and appealing.

We had such a wonderful experience at Merrimans. It was our first visit and we will definitely return the next time we are in Honolulu. Everything we ordered was so fresh and delicious.

We tried a sampling of menu items. All were good, but nothing amazing that stood out. A reliable, upscale, local favorite with menu favorites that could easily be found on the mainland. If I lived here I would likely take guests, but as a traveler I prefer something a bit more intriguing. We had a reservation for over a month and were seated in a bar facing two top, not quite what we expected. The mai tai was divine and the service impeccable.

Amazing experience!! 5 stars!! Ryan was an outstanding server very knowledgeable in the dishes and attentive. He knew the right time to checkin. The lobster caprese, & mushroom ravioli were amazing and ending with great bowl of vanilla bean ice cream. We absolutely loved the dining experience and come back every time we visit Hawaii. Food choices and preparation are top reason for coming back!! Mahalo. Shelley & Kevin.
