    Amanda, our waitress, was attentive and checked on us often. We did not feel rushed. The food was great as always. This is one of our favorite places to dine out.

    The waiter was nice but didn’t check on us as often as you’d expect. We would’ve ordered another bottle of wine but he didn’t come around and then it was too late.

    For a Sunday the service was sub-par. We were seated promptly, but after that it was downhill.

    have dined at Max’s Tavern serval times before, have never had a bad experience until this time. Menu was un-inspiring. Seemed like the chef was trying to force a single ingredient into as many meals as possible (winter squash). It was featured on at least 5-6 meals on a limited menu. Winter squash is a strong taste to try to pair with scallops, shrimp and several other fish offerings. It just did not work, made difficult choices from our table and a poor experience. Scollops and Salmon where average to below avg. and there was a long (about 20-25 minute) wait between appetizer and main course. Will think twice b4 choosing Max’s Tavern again. Definitely didn’t match cost to experience.. first time I’m saying this about this establishment.

    We made a reservation on a very busy evening and were seated timely. We placed our order but waited over 45 minutes to be served. The table next to us placed their order after us and received their food 20 minutes before we did. To the credit of the restaurant, the food was excellent and hot and the restaurant made an adjustment to the check. They handled the situation very professionally. I will certainly go back again.

    Ordered duck and wanted it medium and it arrized raw. The baked potatoe was AMAZING; and the chopped salad was AMAZING! and the cheese biscuts were AMAZING! Other than the hiccup with undercooking my duck it was delicious.
