Food was outstanding. Buffalo cauliflower and burgers cannot be beat. Party also enjoyed scallops and shrimp. Can't go wrong with any of the offerings.

Things have changed since Max restaurant group was sold. The fully loaded baked potato used to be a major event when it arrived at the table. It could feed 4 people because it was so massive. Not anymore. The one served last night hardly had anything on it. No sour cream no bacon- three globs of orange cheese and some chives and that was it. Martini was served in a margarita glass? Steak was okay but used to be outstanding and it was overcooked. The tuna was excellent. The wedge salad was not a wedge but on romaine lettuce pieces. This was an odd experience. Staff was helpful and friendly. I hope this review is read and considered. Love the Max restaurants and hope their return to their previous ways.

Amanda, our waitress, was attentive and checked on us often. We did not feel rushed. The food was great as always. This is one of our favorite places to dine out.

The waiter was nice but didn’t check on us as often as you’d expect. We would’ve ordered another bottle of wine but he didn’t come around and then it was too late.

For a Sunday the service was sub-par. We were seated promptly, but after that it was downhill.

have dined at Max’s Tavern serval times before, have never had a bad experience until this time. Menu was un-inspiring. Seemed like the chef was trying to force a single ingredient into as many meals as possible (winter squash). It was featured on at least 5-6 meals on a limited menu. Winter squash is a strong taste to try to pair with scallops, shrimp and several other fish offerings. It just did not work, made difficult choices from our table and a poor experience. Scollops and Salmon where average to below avg. and there was a long (about 20-25 minute) wait between appetizer and main course. Will think twice b4 choosing Max’s Tavern again. Definitely didn’t match cost to experience.. first time I’m saying this about this establishment.
