Just meh - not great but not awful. FYI - there is no English menu and the Spanish descriptions were difficult to figure out so we had to keep asking the waiter to try to explain to us.

Very nice spot for a light meal. Excellent cocktails with a good variety of beer choices. Wine selection is limited. Service is friendly and attentive and the room is sleek and modern.

These people have lived from an original standard Tex Mex fare, much appreciated locally, to further develop its cuisine towards a much more sophisticated and unique Mexican culinary experience

My wife and I were traveling through Madrid and glad to find Mawey Taco Bar. We dined early by Spanish standards so the restaurant was wide open and very pleased with the decor, ambiance and greeting. Started with house Margaritas which were made with a premium tequila and exceptional. For the two of us, we ordered 3 “tacos”. If you think of a taco as a hard shell tortilla taco shell, don’t. They serve absolutely scrumptious and imaginative Mexican inspired tapas. The 1st was a cheese and poblano pepper dip with tortilla chips that was decadent and brilliant, second a filet beef tartare on a brioche that was indescribably delicious, and pork and chorizo on a tortilla that was likewise delicious. We finished with a tres leche cake that was a wonderful lighter finish to the meal. A great evening and great find

Sitio increíble para degustar toda clase de tacos. El taco gobernador espectacular. Los camareros muy atentos y un ambiente tranquilo.

Excelente comida. El servicio es rápido. Poca espera desde que pides hasta que comes. El local limpio y acogedor. Si te gustan los restaurantes mexicanos, este te encantará.

El mejor mejicano de Madrid!! Los tacos los hacen con cariño cuidando todos los detalles!! No como en otros mejicanos que parece que lanzan la carne + cebolla en un taco pringoso. Excelente!!
