   Great addition to the neighborhood. Food is top-notch. Nice people working there. Outstanding beer list and fair prices. The new steak with fried oysters on top... wowsers.

   Our server Amanda was wonderful. Very friendly and efficient. Everything we ordered came out quickly. The entrees were delicious — I had the lamb, which was very tender — I would say it almost melted in my mouth. The foie gras appetizer was tasty but light on the foie gras. We shared the key lime dessert, which was very good. We would definitely eat at Mallard again.

   Enjoyed every bite while feeling like I was in my southern grandmother’s dining room. Elevated and classy yet comfy and inviting. Will be back! Drinking Dark Whiskey cocktail was delicious, the oyster and bibb lettuce salad were great starter options, the slow roasted steak melted in your mouth, and finished with the coffee and cigarettes and banana puddin’, so tasty!

   My wife and I have eaten 4 times at Mallard, including hosting a small holiday dinner in late December. Last evening's dinner confirms our view that Mallard is an exceptional restaurant and we have to highly recommend it. The only dings, and there have to be some warts, no?, are twofold: 1. Parking is a frustrating and difficult exercise. Strongly recommend a car service of your choosing. 2. Very loud restaurant when full capacity so somewhat difficult to have a conversation. Otherwise? Go!

   We were seated in a small room behind the bar because a large private party had booked the main room. Had we been seated in the main room we would not have been able to hear one another. The service was top-shelf (Crystal) and the food was creative and delicious. Only wish there were more than two duck preparations on the menu. Parking on 14th St was easier than expected.

   From the starters to the desserts… so damn good! Recommend the pimento dip, brussel sprouts and lamb if available… don’t miss out on the dessert: coffee and cigarettes! Can’t wait to go back.

    We went to Mallard's for Valentine's Day weekend. We had seen a great article about it in the Washington Post. It was our first time there and we enjoyed it! The food was great, even though they had a curated set of options for the holiday. We enjoyed what we had, especially the waygu beef entree, and we look forward to exploring the broader dinner menu which looked spectacular. The service was exceptional and our server was attentive, personable, and insightful. Well done, Mallard. We look forward to our next visit!
